Gamestation - trade in for cash?
I have 3 games I want to trade in for cash, was originally going to trade against RDR but that was sold out and have since changed my mind on that so I'm thinking of going back and taking the cash instead (the ebay auctions for the games don't look too promising).
FIFA South Africa 2010 World Cup Splinter Cell Conviction Metro 2033 (bit of a drop off here, huh) I was offered £45 trading in against games and didn't think to ask what the difference would be for cash - also what ID would I need? |

Well at CEX they would give you £27 cash for Fifa,£9 for Splinter Cell and £9 for Metro 2033. If you print out the whole cex screen giving all the information then they will beat it by a pound
![]() Hope this helps Not sure about ID though you would have to ask |

ID is usually the normal ones, passport, driving licence and something with your address on it like a ulitity bill. Although a driving licence usually covers both.
Do the CeX thing, but you'll still be ripped off. |

I don't know where my local CEX is.
So I have to take my passport and driving licence to GS? |

Don't they only beat prices if there's a local CEX? Well I don't have a local one

I took it to Gamestation and it was abysmal, they offerd £30.88. I told them to shove it...but in a nicer way...the bloke there was nice enough
I'll just sell through the CEX website and send my games off, cheaper than the petrol it would take to get to a local one. |

Best place to trade in games and dvd
I've got a ton of DVDs and several PS3 games to trade in and was wondering what's best place to use.
I've previously used gamestation as it was the most convenient and I only traded games. But with so many new options available since I last used them, I was wondering who else would you reccommend? Thanks. |

After reading the replies here, definately CEX. I posted 3 games off and got £15 more than the high street offers (but I don't have a local CEX and couldn't be bothered driving to the nearest one
)

I now NEVER use CEX as i have found the staff in my local one to be rude and disrespectful... For no reason i might add!!
![]() I don't care if they might give me more on certain things but i would rather have decent service and thats not something they give! |

I took a game back once and it was longer than 28 days since i bought it, one of the guys in there (not the one serving me) said "why did you wait this long to bring it back" in a kind of aggressive tone of voice. So i calmly said "well i do work and haven't really had time" but what i really meant was "i actually do some work, unlike you!!" Haven't been back since and this was a good few months ago. I just stick to Gamestation and GAME now. I'm well known in the local Gamestation and i find they help you out better. If i get a problem with a game i take it back and they either put it in the disc fixer machine or just give me another copy and if i request it they let me choose a different game ![]() I have noticed they like to do as little work as possible in CEX, especially when there's a huge queue which is nearly outside the door in length! And then they lie and make excuses, like for example... I have taken phones in there before and thought, its boxed and got everything with it and is as new condition, it'll be top grade... Nope!! I've gone back on more than one occasion to get my payment and they've told me "sorry but its a Grade C not A" and i'm just standing there asking why and they said "because it doesn't have everything with it" which every time i knew was a lie. One example was a Nokia 1208, in box and as new condition. They graded it a C on the grounds it has no headset, which this phone doesn't have in the box when you buy it new anyway! ![]() So now i avoid completely, i even chopped up my CEX card! |

Do you need the cash or just not have anything you want to trade in for at the moment?
You can ask them to put the trade in value on a trade in card. Did this myself over the weekend. The credit on there doesn't expire either. EDIT: Gamestation also price match against CEX. Go to the CEX sell site, print off the pages of any games you have and take it to Gamestation as proof. If CEX offer anything more for them, show Gamestation! |
