Seems much easier to keep track of. What do you think?

Aren't they just implementing some of the EU's new requirements?

I think the other networks have the same/will have the same policy.

Well, the basics are that from April this year, the cap was an opt-in service. From July 1st, it'll be mandatory, and you'll have to opt-out.

The minimum requirement for the cap is £40 data spend in EU and then data services stop unless you call CS and opt-out, thus being informed of further charges (designed to prevent huge data roaming charges being run up unawares).

O2 have taken it to a different level, by making it a global proposition, and by saying as soon as you hit £40 data spend (as little as 6.8MB out of EU and 13.3MB in EU) they'll let you use up to a total of 50MB at no extra cost, which I think is great.
