I will try my hardest not to take an instant dislike to one of the celebs for absolutely no logical reason, particularly one who is a good dancer and stands a chance of winning the show, it makes my viewing stressful.

I will try not to shout abuse at the screen for the following reasons:-

Bruce makes a ridiculous joke or fluffs his lines
Len 'saves' the likes of Craig Kelly
Alesha's 'was and done'

I wil try not to get 'drawn in' to threads that end up being mud slinging and personal abuse, and go round and round in circles saying the same things over and over again

I will keep my fingers crossed that Bhoy1888 decides not to have a flutter on strictly this year.

I will not be refreshing the screen every 5 seconds for news on the day the celebs are announced.

I will try my hardest not to sound exasperated when my son chooses to talk to me about something really important just as the strictly music starts on a Saturday.....even though he should really know better.

I will do my best not to get cross about people who keep posting threads about the same subject over and over again.....does anyone know whats happened to Nicole Cutler

Ofcourse I know that I will fail dismally to kee to any of these resolutions and I dont care because its all part of the fun......bring it on I cant wait. ......wish we had a bouncing up and down smilie.

Brilliant, I particularly like the first one which I think a number of people on this thread could do with trying to stick to for the first couple of weeks at least, although I imagine the chances of that happening when glimmer of talent in the first week generally equates to becoming public enemy number one in many peoples eyes

Admirable sentiments Jan! and in the spirit of the thread I promise to...

react in a measured and mature way if someone posts what I deem to be a gratuitously offensive remark about any of the pro's (Not applicable if Camilla is involved)

Er...that's about it for now

Brilliant...This made me laugh Jan

Ok...I promise to NOT keep comparing EVERYTHING to Series 5, and that includes, pros, celebrities, dances, pro dances, music, dresses and couples!!

I WILL move on and forget the past....

Brilliant, Jan!

I may be able to stick to one or two of those resolutions if I concentrate really hard and show huge self restraint!

Ok I promise that every time a male celeb is eliminated I will not throw things at the telly and scream "he would have won if they'd given him to Lilia " !!!!

This is a fun thread!

I really have to promise not to like one partnership and then *only* like that partnership and refuse to see the good in any of the others! I do it every year and it's a little exhausting!

I promise :

1) not to yell abuse at the the judges (even Bruno!!) & suggest they get glasses, when they insist someone has danced beautifully, were a-ma-zing daaarrrrrling, etc etc etc., when the celeb in question has danced out of time, and with little or no attempt to dance with proper technique.

2) not to get the hump with the singers when they hit a bad note, or the band in general when they play the music too fast or too slow, instead of the proper laid down speed for each dance.

3) I promise to keep the above 2 promises - at least until the first celeb dances on the first show!!

I promise that too

I also promise not to get jealous of Ola's figure when she wears a catsuit, or whatever she wears, ditto Flavia's figure...

I promise to not mute the judges at least for the first half an hour/show

I promise not to correct Tess out loud every time she pronounces someone's name wrong

i promise not to think 'this would be so much better if Claudia was presenting this bit' for the entireity of every Saturday night show....

I promise not to mimic Tess everytime she says "Let see what the Joooodges thought of it" (Sorry I'm a Southerner - maybe Len gets the same reaction from Northerners).

I promise not to moan everytime they dance a paso or tango to a non trad piece of music.

I promise not to say "And what exactly do you know about ballroom technique?" everytime any judge but Len makes a comment, or to say "And you should know better" everytime Len speaks.

I promise to remember how rubbish I was when I first started dancing (and still am) and appreciate just how much of an achievement it is to remember a routine, footwork etc.(yep even the Craig Kellys and Richard Dunwoodys), let alone maintain a reasonable posture throughout the dance, not looking down at feet.

I promise not to spend the whole programme looking at my watch waiting for Matthew Cutler and co to come on with their pro dance.

Actually I think I better add that to my list too

LMAO!

Oh god, I'll try. Between Kelly Brook, Lisa Snowdon and Ricky Whittle, I've been on the verge of a coronary over the past few seasons. It would be much easier if I could have liked them. (Although I stand by 'Austin woz robbed!')

I promise not to sit through the opening credits saying 'Gone; not gone' as the eliminated and still in it celebs appear.

And I promise not to sit through the opening credits saying 'out; should be out; shouldn't be out'!

I will not compare endlessly to Series3. For me that's still the ultimate. Sorry, I think the rot started with the judges and the D.O. in Series5, so I don't share in the almost universal love of it.

I promise not to shout 'bring back Laurie Holloway, Dave Arch is rubbish' every time Bruce says 'Dave Arch and his fabulous orchestra.'

I shall not automatically whinge when Dave Arch plays or rather mangles a modern piece of music to either a Tango or Paso. Some do work.

Some.

I shall try to keep tolerant of Len, when he starts his eye rolling looking up at the ceiling, ''e's a bloke innee' routine, or saves the wrong kupple which is more often than not.

I shall try not to support any kupple obsessively this year (ha!) and not get drawn into the wind up threads designed to send you round the twist and keep you head desking for 3 months.

Constantly defending Kelly Brook, Chris Hollins, Darren G has now mentally exhausted me and I shall studiously ignore threads attacking the same. See above.

I think I might just go on holiday when the series is on.

I promise to somehow get myself a second log-in name, so when we predict our top 3 this year I will not be left horrified like last year (Joe, Martina, Craig).

I promise that come the final, when my favourite gets beaten by a vastly inferior dancer who is 100 times more popular with the public, I will not sulk until Boxing day.

I promise to give the new boys a chance.

In fairness, I thought Martina would go a lot further than she did.

On paper Martina Joe and Craig could all have been real contenders.....last series was so odd in that respect.

You only sulked until boxing day I sulked for about a year and half when Gethin was dumped in the semi final....infact I still sulk about it occasionally

Trying again ...

...I promise to try not to be pig headed and only reply to a post because it is made by someone who really gets on my nerves (mentioning NO names)!

Mind you, given the changes already announced, we might have lots of new things to carp on about this year!

I promise not to make endless reference to the fact that I miss Mathew ,.
Or indeed make posts that ask Where is Mathew Cutler ?

I promise to make an effort to give Alesha another change , but I wont hold my breath on that one

I promise to try to like them all and even the obligatory East Ender one .

Very true.

I was a little unreasonably optimistic last season though. I kept hoping Craig would have a breakthrough week, Matt Dawson style, and was a little disappointed when he just kept getting worse week after week. I think I gave up after his dad dance and just enjoyed him as he was.

That's great Jan!
Those 2 are on my list- get strange looks whenever I do either of those 2 things!!
I won't shout at the TV when I think the judges made the wrong decision.
I won't keep repeating throughout the entire series " why don't they just use the original music instead of Dave Arch?"
I'll try not to bear grudges towards the new pros- athough that's not going well at the moment, even before the actual series starts.
I'll try not to spend every spare moment on here ( can't see it happening though) so I can get homework done before the weekend.

Great thread!

I promise to watch Bruce do his little dance at the beginning without saying constantly "he's past it...get him off!!" and will not mute him at all.

I promise to not mute Alesha and not to look at the other judges faces as she makes her comments.

I promise to not complain about the dreadful act they've got on in the results show.

This is gonna be HARD!
