What the heck at imdb.

Usually programmes are sparse for getting rated, especially UK shows, and more so actual episodes, due to the fact you can rate them seperately to the main series, just found this though.

"Doctor Who" The Pandorica Opens (2010)

Just as bad as people voting "awful" in DS polls, the very second each episode begins.

Can't the polls be opened only after the program has aired? That would at least stop some of the rash voting (in either case - awful or excellent) until they've had time to digest it, surely...

Also, not even Iron Man 2 got voted for prematurely, this is weird.

the thing is the ppl that vote this way will just do the same once the poll shows up regardless of the actual quality of the said episode!

True, but not all - some people would have been gunning to do it there and then, but if they can't they won't be bothered to do it later.

It will be a minimal change at best, but still a change nonetheless.

Yeah - it's human nature...

A lot of people dislike or like things on principle - but I'm not one to make a judgement on that!

I believe I'm correct in saying that a few people have already seen the episodes (lucky sods) so maybe some of those ratings are accurate after all.

I agree 100%, how can people rate an episode they haven't seen?

Maybe so, but like I said, it seems odd as ratings seems sparse for something as specific as an episode of a TV series because people don't set out to vote for these because most realise they can't, and like I said earlier, this didn't happen for Iron Man 2 as an example of a big release.

I don't understand what's so wierd about it - what are you trying to suggest has happened?

That people have voted without seeing it.

That people have rated this prior to it's broadcast, this didn't happen with something just as big as Iron Man 2 for an example.

That's rather obvious. The OP seems to be suggesting something more intriguing.

Sorry sepmix, I'm not being hostile. It just seemed like you'd made some sort of conclusion or had a hypothesis as to why people were voting early. I didn't realise you were simply making a statement of fact. Apologies.

I wasn't suggesting this at all actually, sorry if this was seemingly the case.

IMDb is one big bucket of fail. The DW forums on there are a joke.

Agreed. And the ratings/reviews are awful. The DVD of Se5, Vol 1 was rated 4.5 stars after only one episode had aired.

This sometimes happens elsewhere-for instance, people on Amazon were giving the 2009 Special DVDs 5/5 before any of the actual specials were even transmitted!
