Brandon Flowers new single 'Crossfire' from his solo album 'Flamingo' has leaked. Heard this last night on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show. Have to say i'm rather disappointed, totally not what i was expecting.

After hearing the 1min 37sec sample on his website for months and loving it, i was expecting something more electronic but it just pretty much sounds like a Killers album track and an average one at that. And i'm genuinely a Killers fan and seen them live. Hmmm, maybe it will grow on me but not right now.

That sample is from an album track.

I think Crossfire is great. Thank god for Brandon Flowers, saving the music scene of 2010.

And I'm not just saying that as a massive Killers fan. I was dubious of the solo career at first. I was getting bad vibes from the album name. But he's proved me wrong with this song.

It's so average. I was bored half way through. Shame, I was expecting something good from him.

Hmm. Undecided.

His voice is quite distinct and represents The Killers so obviously that he can't really afford to release anything that sounds like it COULD be The Killers, because it'll just defeat the purpose of going solo.

It's a tricky position to be in. He has to go in a completely un-Killers-esque direction to be seen as a separate artist IMO, and i'm not sure this does that.

Really?! What music do you listen to?! Not....Cradle of Filfth?! That's the only band I can't imagine anybody getting bored during

Fair point there. But I read somewhere that Brandon said they were meant to be Killers songs but the other guys wanted a break. Still, I think it's a great song. I hope it does well.

But, just stop, for a moment, and imagine, Brandon, in a dappy hat and tracksuit, singing "K-k-keeelllleeerrrr, B-Flow", before every track and then rapping about ditching girls and making their bed's rock.

I'd be tempted to buy it for a laugh

Really liked the little preview that had been on the site. There's an instrumental of crossfire on the site now which I think I prefer to the actual track.

Aparrantly it's a double a-side: Crossfire and On the Floor. I wonder if On the Floor is the other song that was played on his website at first?

I really like it. In fact i love it. But I'm a Killers fan and im quite happy it sounds Killers-esque i guess. Though it does have a slightly different vibe to a Killers song......

I love love love this. Its giving me Killers Sam's Town era.

Not everyone that goes solo has to leave their group sound completely completely behind especially if they are a lead vocalist.

That said I have no doubt there'll be differences between his Killers work and solo work because there just will be, from the songwriting through to the production.

I'm feeling this tune.
