We wanted to offer members the speediest service possible so sign up and you can set your PS3 to automatically receive the latest game updates for all the games you play, PS3 system software updates and even have game demos sent directly to your PS3 without lifting a finger.

Just set the time you want to receive them and your PS3 will automatically wake up and download everything, ready for when you next want to play. No more waiting to play your favourite game because there is a new patch or having to remember when the latest system software is launching, let your PS3 do the work.
This should be a standard feature on all PS3s and should have been for a long time.

Brought a PS3 for free online not going to subscribe to an half arsed trialware service . if they offered unlimited video rentals from the PSN for a certain amount a month maybe.
"unlimited" video rentals? Not in a billion years!!

A couple of free rentals a month would be nice.

I think I will get this, Don't own Wipout HD and I wanted this. it will be a bit cheaper too as I got some £20 psn cards from Zavvis when yhey where cheap.

I can see next month war hawk DLC bundle will be 50% off which I would like but what happens if this becomes a free DLC offer later?

Better to just buy wipeout, that way you own it.

You will own the game as long as you keep your subscription to PSN+ every year.

I managed to get a £20 PSN card from ebay for £14, and you can usually get them for about £16 on ebay sometimes, so really, PSN+ can cost you about £32, minus the LBP game you get to keep forever which would normally be about £10, you're looking at £20 to shell out. Well worth it, in fact for £20, you would have to be a bit stupid not to.

What time is it expected tomorrow? After saying I'll wait, I'll be getting this from the off. Played Wipeout earlier after the Holland game at my mate's house & was impressed. Plus LBP for free too. I have just over £30 in my PSN wallet which I was going to use to get MW2 maps but I can't stand that game anymore!

Hope LBP has all the updates & patches with it from the off...

Still dont agree with you. PS+ sounds great for anyone who didnt previously use the store a lot. If you did then you probably already have the ones you had wanted from it, as well as the DLC that you wanted at that time.

If you are new to it then, yeah, sounds tempting as you are guaranteed some new games to play each month, although its in the hands of the gods as to what you are offered as there is no choice.

For me, its a rental service, and there is NOTHING at all wrong with that, but like I say, for someone new to PS store. However with shoving system features in there, just now only auto downloads, they are sort of penalising folk who have been buying week in week out for years from the store.

Overall though, whoever fancies it can go for it and those that dont arent forced to, so no real harm done I guess. Good thing is we arent forced to sign up right away, so if it gets better then the door is still open

Like frailfury I'm looking forward to picking LBP, also Wipeout HD is of interest as I don't have that.

I think for the lucky few PSN+ is gonna be a real bargain.

The dynamic themes is also quite good as I prefer them, assuming they're decent.

It'll be interesting to see how it works out for Sony, though no doubt we'll never know. I've seen lots of posts about people saying they are taking PS+ but also saying they will now never purchase anything else from the store, as it could be offered later.

Sorry, I wasn't calling anyone stupid...

I've only ever bought Geon, Bowling, and Flower from the store. Oh and Resi Evil VS pack.

You could call it a rental service...however you could kinda call it £30+ to trial loads of store stuff...if after a year, you like a few, and don't want PSN+, you can always buy those favourites that you'd miss.

You get a digital copy of LBP.... so you'd best decide before the start of August or you won't get this.

Remember, Sony could have charged us £40 for online altogether like MS do.

Just a quick question, if you do cancel your sub after a year, are at least them themes and avatars yours to keep for free? It's just the PSN, Psone, and Mini's that would be inactive right?

yeah, you're right Frail. you keep the themes and avatars and LBP and any discounts you used to BUY stuff is fine. Its just as you say, the minis, PS1 and PSN titles that become inactive, as well as any PS+ system features of course.

If you resubscribe later though, those previous ones reactivate again.

Hmm, gonna start looking for cheap PSN+ cards online then.

Only thing I'm annoyed about is push demos, any way you can stop this do you know? I wonder if you will get some sort of additional menu within the XMB for this in terms of settings.

You have a week to decide and still manage to get the free copy of LBP i think. You could always wait to hear tomorrow and next what folk think of it.

I was hoping they'd have mentioned something by now on the blogs about FW3.4 but so far nowt.

Think about it.

£39.99

A two year old game - LBP - to keep forever (has been sold on amazon for £7 in the past).

FREE DLC - is it new exciting DLC?. . .Uncharted 2?. . .MW2?. . .no. (What's the DLC? . . .KZ2?. . .DLC from a year). . . it's actually DLC from AGES ago. Don't be surprised it Warhawk DLC comes out from nearly 2 years ago.

Push demo's. . .because going to the PS Store and downloading the ones you want is extremely tiring.

Push updates. . .because clicking update causes arthritis

I know, I may as well wait and see, not going to lose out either way.

Yes they have been very quiet on the 3.4 front. Wonder what they are up to.

I think I might just get the three month sub just now, as I don't have Wipeout as it is, so worth the money at £10.99 (I think).

EDIT: But then again, its not if I don't like the sub and then lose Wipeout.

This is doing my sensible head in

With a 3 month sub you get you're basically renting wipeout for 3 months are you not?

I am sorry for those who support this . . but as it is. . .PSN+ is just a massive piece of pointless waste in the matrix.

I think one of the discounts is 20% off Fat Princess DLC. There is only one paid DLC for FP and that is out tomorrow too. Sure it 3.99, so about £3.20 or so for + subs.

They should imo offer on month 3 the discount on the new LBP Marvel levels/costumes. Maybe by now they could throw in the MGS and pirates LPB DLC as the freebie.

If you look around for PSN cards, £18 is the cheapest, so £36 for PSN+....

Think of it that you will subscribe every year...so for £36 a year, you're getting all these games each month.

They may have something else up their sleeves yet.

At the moment (in fear of repetition) I see PS+ as £36 for possible the chance of the odd PSN title i dont have or me using that money to get me GT5 in Nov/Dec.

even though I'm not currently getting it, I'm excited for tomorrow for it to go live but thats just cause somehow I love FW update days.
