Personally speaking I find the look of Knack much more appealing and to my taste than Rocket League. I thought Styx and Entwined looked more interesting than Rocket League as well.

As someone who tends to prefer the larger games over smaller titles I would like to see some variety for the games offered on PS+. At the moment it is too heavy leaning toward smaller indie titles which is great for those who prefer those games but more often than not they are of little interest to me (And clearly a lot of others). All I want is to see PS+ cater to all customers, indie fans are well catered for, fans of larger retail games really aren't cater for at all any more.
The games I cited were just examples. I appreciate that everyone's tastes are different and I have no issue with full retail games appearing in the service. In fact I would welcome the move. But in the age old argument of quality vs quantity I believe the former should always win out. Sadly, I don't think that will neccesarily be the case.

IMHO Quality has massively dropped in the last couple of years. Sony seem to prefer to provide multiple indie games each month because these games offer cross-buy a lot of the time so it means that can provide more than the normal 2 PS4 games per month. It seems like quantity is far more important than quality with the current service.

All I want is to see a balanced service. I miss the retail games which used to be offered on PS3. I probably wouldn't renew my subscription if online play wasn't locked behind the PS+ paywall on PS4.

There was always going to be a lack of retail games for PS+ on PS4 because were so early in its life & there not going to give away a big retail game thats not that old.

Regarding the quality v quantity argument... I think a lot of the smaller digital games have been of far higher quality & i've put more hours into them & got far more enjoyment out of them than I have most of the big retail titles out so far.

I think my concern with this vote thing is that if we have a choice of say Infamous, Rocket League & Resogun I can see most voting for Infamous just because its the big retail title. Yeah Infamous is a good game but for pure gameplay, fun factor & longevity Rocket League & Resogun are miles better.

Guess I'd just be disappointed if we end up with great games been overlooked by PS+ members just because people can't look beyond the bigger, better known game.

The PS4 is nearly 2 years old, that argument doesn't fly any more. PS3 received many retail games on PS+ that hadn't been out as long as the PS4 has.

At this point I would vote for inFamous just to see a retail game on the service, even though I own it already.

Really I don't think this should be about indie verses retail games. I want to see more retail games offered on PS4 PS+ but I don't want to see all indie games disappear. I am not sure why so many people seem to fear retail games turning up on plus, as if it will somehow sudden mean all indie games will vanish.

PS+ on PS3 had a good balance of indie games and retail games.

Yes but at that time over 60 million PS3s had been sold so predicting sales trends should have been reasonably easy at that point (a million new potential customers were not arriving monthly). Only a small proportion of gamers have currently moved on to the PS4 so there is a much greater chance of those retail games making money at retail with the way that the PS4 is currently selling (a million new potential customers are arriving monthly).

The instant game collection started 3.5 years in the PS3s life (June 2010). It was another year before the first retail game hit the service (Burnout Paradise in June 2011 - ignoring Pain which was digital only for the first 2 years). Burnout Paradise was released in January 2008.

Sleeping Dogs was the first of the quick retail additions to the IGC having been on sale for only 6 months, but again that appeared over 6 years into the PS3s life. There are only a handful of retail titles which have had a similarly quick addition to the IGC (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Payday 2 and Remember Me spring to mind).

It would be awesome if titles like Arkham Knight were added to the IGC in the next couple of months but I understand why publishers are hesitant to "give away" their games when this generation is so young and is growing rapidly.

It think it will only be on unreleased games, so certainly smaller indie titles. It also isn't going to happen every month.
I enjoy a lot if the indie games that have been on plus. Apotheon and Resogun spring to mind. I think there should be bigger games on Ps3 though, it was good to see God of War fir August.
What I don't like is the titles cropping again on different platforms like Limbo and Guacamelee.

I was also getting very slow download speeds with that.

Oddly however when I paused that & unpaused/started downloading LImbo that downloaded at full speed (2-3 minutes to download all 172mb) but when that finished I started downloading the patch & that downloaded as slowly as Lara Croft had (took 10 minutes to download the 16mb patch).

Who actually hosts the game files on PSN?

Some games download much faster than others which makes me wonder if developer / publishers host the content.

Lara Croft is saying it will take 30minutes on my 100mb connection.

Anybody know if the Lara Croft game can be played single player?

Looking forward to giving Limbo another go, played it last when it was given away free as part of the PS3 PSN+ a while ago and remember getting stuck at the spider bit.

Also looking forward to God Of War, never played any of that series.

Must be your internet, mine took a few hours for all 4 games while streaming movies on a 6 download. While other times it can take a whole day for a decent sized game.

I've done speed tests and they're showing 40 meg. The update file downloaded in a flash but the main game file is dragging along.

.
Yes it can. The levels adjust as to how many people are playing, so the same puzzles will look different if you replay with more/less people. That's the gust I got from watching a trailer.

That's about 3 minutes in! The spider is awesome though.

Give it a proper go, it's a fantastic game with a great atmosphere. I've played it through on PS3 and again on VITA, just started playthrough #3 on PS4

PSN downloads being slow is all over Twitter. Of course I am doing it during the time when us Europeans are coming home from work and some from the US of A are logging on.

I still don't think it is a good time for both networks to release this content on the same day.

Lara Croft looks like a download over two days - thank God for the ability to pause it.

I got it on the store at 10 in the morning through the search option. Must be a good time to avoid traffic plus last months still shows up in the ps plus section.

I downloaded everything earlier and they're all installed. Didn't notice them but seemed reasonably quick. I think I might enjoy sound shapes

God of War (PS3) is a 37.5Gb download which requires 75gb of free space to install.

There's been a lot said about the smaller indie vs AAA games chosen for PS+, but Sony should probably take a look at the size of the games before deciding what to release.

After all, any PS+ subscribers who haven't upgraded from the original 40gb disk are going to be stuffed with this one (is this the first PS+ game that won't actually fit on standard boxes?)

I'm pretty sure Uncharted 3 was close to 50gb, but you did have a choice to skip stuff like the multiplayer or HD cut scenes.

The originals were 60gb but point taken.
