LOL. Again, you're singling individuals out. I didn't do that. I certainly didn't stoop to....

Thanks for that, by the way. Felt real good.

“You painted everyone who wants to see more AAA games on Plus as a "mass market, lowest common denominator, easily pleased, blinkered, Sun reading, X Factor watching majority". Knowing how most of the people in this thread have been critical of Sony's attitude towards Plus this year, you surely must have realised that your comment was insulting at best.”
No, no, no. I feel like I'm going round in circles here trying to articulate the point I was trying to make. You know what,
if that's what you felt, I apologise. But that wasn't my intent at all. It wasn't directed at everyone in here.
One last try.
Please look back at the post and see what sparked the comment. It was that poll which said a number of people preferred First Light over games such as Transistor, Valiant Hearts, Guacamelee, Unfinished Swan, Limbo, Super Meat Boy.... Presumably not because it's a better game (it isn't), but because of its AAA status.
I was trying to say that, as little as I agree with it on a personal level, Sony have to change their policies now. Because there are people out there that are influenced by hype, tag lines, marketing, glossy pictures, sensationalism, high production values..... The kind of people that are inclined to consume (in my opinion) crap like The Sun and X Factor. Not because they are quality products, but because they are crowd pleasing. They take things purely at face value and can't see beyond it. These type of consumers make up the majority share and Sony is going to have to appease them.
Just look at the PS4 community on Facebook. You can see many of these people on there. They have no clue or even care about how the industry works, or about what is or is not realistically possible. They just stamp their feet and make rediculous demands.
Does that sound like us? You really think I was tarring everyone here with the same brush?
If I said "all idiots drive blue cars", does that mean all people that drive blue cars are idiots? Of course not.
Over the years these pages have been great for news, intelligent conversation, help, advice and even debate. The trolls don't hang around long, the regulars generally keep it nice. I like it here. Why would I go out of my way to upset people?
Although, I have to say, I've never felt less welcome.
