From September 22 the price of a PS+ sub in America goes up to €60 for the year, an increase of €10. Canada also had a price hike of €20 but that's it. Nothing as of yet for the UK or Europe.

Would a £10 hike genuinely put anyone off the service here ? What about a £5 hike ?

I had to renew mine last month but accidentally did it twice so I'm set until 2018

It's already overpriced for me and that's why I don't have PSN+. With the price hike I think more people will stop paying it unless PS services improve.

They'll really have to up the quality of the monthly games now to justify the price increase.

Xbox Live is already $60.
PS+ is increasing from $50 to $60

This is just USA / Canada at the moment. No news on any UK/EU price changes so far.

I won't be renewing until my free online play stops working :P Playing a lot of BF4 again recently so if it was to cut off tomorrow, I'd renew. Especially with BF1 out in a couple of months.

The UK got an increase in shorter subs last year did it not? Don't know if other regions got the increase at the same time as us though.

Yeah for £50 a year I think I'd cancel and put the money towards an Amazon Prime Subscription instead. I don't play online and the PS+ games have been, by and large, of an average to poor quality. I may cancel anyway (expires around Christmas I believe)

The lack of AAA is a problem. The excuse of the console being new held sway last year, but it's now 2016, we will likely see an updated PS4 before the year is out, and there's a huge swathe of AAA titles that have never made it to PS Plus. So poor compared to the excellent PS3 offerings.

I use the online a lot, so I'd continue even with a £10 increase.

I don't mind them offering Indie games as long as the quality is good, but that seems to have been slipping recently. I'm not too concerned just yet, but the wider audience are just going to get more and more pissed off if the decline continues.

It would be nice to think they are perhaps using the extra cash to move back to AAA games or dropping in a VR title. But I'm not optimistic.

Anyway, until we get news of a UK/EU increase, there's nothing to worry about.

If you look at it subjectively and rationally it is just a nicker a week.

Most of us spend more than that a day on junk food or over-priced coffee from one of those chains.

And I know people who spend £30/month on their phone contracts.

PS+ is cheap as chips really - free games and discounts off discounted games.

If it was to go up £10 a year i'd still keep renewing because I still see it as great value for the money (And I don't even play online all that often).

Yes fine we don't get AAA games on PS4 every month but so what, Most of the games we have got have still been good/great IMO & since I have all 3 platforms that get games even if the PS4 games on any given month don't interest me there's usually something on PS3/Vita which does.

A lot of the great games I've been playing on Vita recently came thanks to PS+ for instance & I think there's been some great smaller stuff on PS4 as well the past few months so as I say I still see it as great value for money.

I only got a PS$ last Christmas and was given PS+ at the same time but i can't say it is value for money for me - i don't like playing online and the free games, whilst being good in some cases, haven't been worth the price - i loved Gauntlet but as i buy most of my games when they are discounted on the Canadian store then it makes more sense for me to cancel ps+ at the end of the year and put the money saved into games i actually want.

I'm predicting a fat tenner straight on top here, forget the dollar to pound conversion.

i dont think they will increase the uk price above £40 because it would then be more expensive than xbox live gold
