Been a 360 gamer since launch but I think the ps3 is starting to get interesting so I decided now was a good time. I may consider the 3 month subscription like yourself, see how it gos for me. Cheers.

Assassins Creed beta has now been announced for plus members - running from the 27th of September - which is a week earlier than the general release (which I think is tied to pre-orders)

Happy with this - Beta access was one of the main selling points for me, so hopefully the first of many

Apparently the beta is now live - 3045mb. I am at work so can't confirm.

Well I think PS+ has been good value for money.

I have the minis, the ps one games and the free games in Sam & Max, Zen pinball (a bit crap) and Wipeout HD (Excellent) and then LBP all for £36 (used PSN cards).

I would have none of these if I hadn't subscribed as I wouldn't buy from the store normally.

Then there is the other content (themes etc) and automatic downloads - this is worth it alone as the number of times I have gone to play a game only to find it needs to update before i play , thus not being able to play when I wanted.

I am a happy bunny with only 1/3rd of my subscription used and like the fact that I am getting content I wouldn't normally buy as it gives me a chance to sample different things.

I guess if you are a regular buyer of games (I am not) then its a bit hit and miss, in case you already have them games being offered.

Yes, this is the problem. I have all the stuff I wanted from PSN already bought, so nothing of interest left for me. I WOULD however have liked to have auto download of patches (they can shove the push demos though).

Things are changing though as I now no longer buy as much from PSN. This maybe means in a year or so things on the plus side might start to look value for money for me.

Next Wednesday. Can't even remember what games they were giving.

Anyway, I wont be subscribing to plus again. I will see after xmas if things have improved. I don't hold my breath though.

the AC beta is up on the store and downloading at the mo.

Its the actual full game I believe as once the beta is finshed you get the option to unlock the full game before the release date.

I Loved Assassins Creed II after being disappointed in the first (I was REALLY looking forward to the first).

Are you Beta-testing the multiplayer or just the single player?

I'll not really be playing the multiplayer of it so I'm hoping with regard to Brotherhood they keep it EXACTLY the same as Assassins Creed II as it was perfect.

The beta is only for the multiplayer unfortunately so I can't judge the whole game on it, and to be honest I didn't have much hope for multiplayer on the game - Assassins Creed should always be a story driven single player game!

Yeah As long as they don't fiddle with the campaign I'll be happy.

Probably won't even select Multiplayer from the main menu of Brotherhood.

I'd maybe consider PS+ if you got your money back for games already bought... a whole bunch of the games they've offered "free" I already have. I'd certainly feel duped if I'd subscribed. I'd also be loath to ever buy a game in case it goes onto PS+ the following month. As it is, if a game's been out a while I won't buy it, waiting for it to go on Special Offer instead.

Seems Sony are almost punishing the people who make regular purchases and rewarding those who make none, but subscribe. Giving you store credit (even if only part) if you already have purchased the month's free games would be a better deal.

They are and they arent in my opinion.

I reckon their sole purpose with plus was to only try to encourage the folk who didnt purchase from PSN to use this. The only cheeky thing they did though was to through a system feature in there of the automatic download of patches.

They must have known it wouldnt go down well with people who frequently open their wallets/purses and probably wouldnt have banked on them subscribing to it.

I guess the people who are buying continue buying don't they. If it generates new sales from people who wouldn't normally bother then that's all they're after really

This hasn't been a massive failure after all perhaps.

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/...alert-mag-2-0/

looking at the MAG 2.0 patch comments (and holy crap that's a MASSIVE patch). . . the comments seem to mostly have PSN+ icons in the avatar

Yep, first Wednesday in every month. We will also find out what games they are offering next month. It would have to be something good to tempt me back.

That's whats exciting me! Will be putting Dead Rising 2 aside to play Syphon Filter again! Although I still have the original MGS to play.

I wanna buy Lara but I reckon we'll get discounts on it soon so best to wait I think. I can see a 50% off coming on Lara, dunno why.

Does nobody bother to read the EU blog? It tells you a month in advance what games will be available next month and on what date.
