Looks like Shatter is a last minute replacement for Astro Tripper, then. I'm a bit disappointed that they're giving us Magician Lord (a very old Neo Geo game) instead of a PS1 classic...
Shatter is a decent game, but one I already have.

I agree about the Neo Geo thing - I have zero interest in those games.

That James Thorpe keeps saying that the service is evolving, but in many ways it seems to be going backwards. Still, looking forward to the costume quest discount...

I think when mine comes up for renewal in june or july, whenever it was launched last year, I won't renew again. I've rarely played the free games I got! In fact, I've barely played any of them. I made the most of the discounts you get really, and the free copy of LBP.

It's great for discounts, but in terms of PSN games, it's not that great. If we got some decent titles or if we got to keep all the games forever, then I would keep it going, but there hasn't been anything great. I've not played the mini's. Just feel it's not great for me.

First post here so be gentle

I just got my first PS3 the other day and am enjoying it.

I subscribed to playstation plus and feel a bit underwhelmed. I didnt get LBP. Not sure if its only because i did the 90days instead of the year, but i cant see the value in this at all

Welcome

The offer with a free copy of LBP ended a few month ago. Surely you read the newer deal on the store before purchase?

They've announced some FANTASTIC mid-Jan treats for us. Genuinely mindblowing stuff. £2 off Costume Quest, £1.50 off Modern Combat: Domination, and 60 minutes of Mass Effect 2. I guess the Sonic Theme is okay, if you don't mind the noise.

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/...s-for-january/

On Friday, if you are a PlayStation Plus member, you can download the full [Mass Effect 2] game trial which allows you to play the full game for 60 minutes
The next treat for you is a 25% day one discount of on the new PSN multiplayer shooter, Modern Combat: Domination.
The third treat is an exclusive discount on a great little game bundle called Costume Quest on Ice. Until 2 Feb, you guys can get this bundle with a 20% discount.
We have managed to get you a new Sonic dynamic theme from the guys at SEGA. Featuring the Splash Hill zone and the iconic ‘ring’ sound when you scroll through the XMB, the theme will be on the Store for everyone to purchase but we are offering it to Plus members for free.

I don't see the ME2 trial up there yet, but the rest of the stuff is available.

I already got it. It's one of only a few PS1 games that has aged good.

Crash Bandicoot 2 is back on the store today aswell.

Bummer. Do you not remember the email address you used for your US account?

I have my normal UK account, a US one, Canadian, HK and Japanese one.

Wonder if Lead & Gold is up to much... had a keen eye on it for a short while before its release.

wow - nothing for me again, second month running.

I definitely wont be resubscribing to this.

The fallout 3 dlc was cool - but not really worth the subscription. Aside from that I have had a chance to play a few games that I otherwise wouldn't have purchased, but again not worth the price.

Betas are great and all - but I did not really play any of them much.

Good service for new PS3 owners but not for me..

not great really. Had a few interesting touches in there. But the community was sparse and it was quite laggy. After buying this I decided to steer clear of online only PSN titles.

Hopefully it gets a few days of activity with the PSN+ release, would be nice to get something decent out of my PSN+ sub before it expires. I don't think I'll be continuing with mine either, there hasn't been a whole lot on offer to suggest that it's worth putting down 40 quid for another 15 months of games that I probably wouldn't have bought otherwise.

Played Lead and Gold last night. it's actually not too bad, found games straight away and they were lag free.

Not sure I would have actually bought it though.

EDIT: Tried that neogeo game. Oh my god it is complete rubbish.

Agreed on the neo geo game. Not for me at all. I like retro but that is a bit too retro for me

I had a quick go on Lead and Gold last night - had a couple of fairly decent games - but there was not much activity on the servers (only a few games with more than 2 or 3 people.) It may have been the KZ3 beta effect though.

I saw the US are getting Stacking on release day for free ( usual cost $15.99)That is a great offer, I would LOVE to see the EU get that too. I have a soft spot for Tim Schafer games (costume quest and pyshconauts were great)

EDIT: Apparently the EU team have confirmed on twitter that we will be getting it. It has gone from a bad month for plus to a great month in one tweet
