Did anyone play Kingdoms of Amalur? I've heard that it was quite a good game and was wondering people's thoughts on it. I'm currently going through Farcry 3 at the moment but want something ready for when it's finished.
Kingdoms of Amalur is a great game. I had it on disc ages ago. I have not got around to finishing it yet but I fully intend to. A decent open world RPG, with a high fantasy setting and real time combat. Great fun.

Not a great month for me. I picked up BF3 a while back on the cheap. Couldn't get into the online and the campaign sucked. Will give it another go I guess. Payday is a decent co-op FPS. You need to co-ordinate with the other players, so with friends it is fun - otherwise not so much.
I rented SR3 from Lovefilm. Not really for me - the humour doesn't hit home. There is some fun to be had though.
Better for me on the Vita - Ninja Gaiden might be fun. Unit 13 is fun - best shooter to date on the system - controls really well.

Some like, some don't. But I find it a more than useful RPG with decent freeroam elements. Not in Skyrim's league by any means, but what is. It reminds me of the popular PC title Torchlight with it's colourful, charm filled, cartoon like graphics. However the colour palette is a little 'vigorous' at times, particularly outdoors.. Metacritic says 81%, I'd offer 75. But yep, a fun romp..

Kingdoms of Amalur as a fun RPG but there are better ones out there. The free roaming is cleverly done as its not really free roaming, you have zones which are connected by 'load tunnels' but the game does a very good job of hiding those and making it feel like quite a large world. For me I feel it is a game stuck in the middle of an RPG and an Action Adventure game and it really needed to just side with one of those genres rather than trying to bridge the gap and be something in the middle.

For me its a 3/5 type game, if you enjoy RPGs give it a go, its free and it is enjoyable just don't expect anything ground breaking.

@grilli no problems with Hitman, I got it on release on Plus and have platinumed the game with no freezing issues. I saved and loaded a hell of a lot in that game as well.

Going back to my connection. Just tested it. I get 7.9 via wireless and 10.6 via cable.

On plus, as a new subscriber. It undoubtedly looks great with the amount of games you get but gawd only knows how I'll get through playing them. I can see me having a major traffic jam of unplayed games. Obviously they are massive downloads too so hdd is premium.

GOod....though you'll need time to get most from it

If you got the ps3 version digitally it does. I have Jak 2 already for free. If you got it on disc you are out of luck though....

Apparently the vita versions are shocking though - really poor frame rates etc. This is a worrying trend , Ratchet and Clank Q-Force was also borderline unplayable due to frame rate issues.

Hope you enjoy it!

I need to get back to Far Cry 3 - played it very briefly earlier in the year and loved it. I have a huge backlogue at the moment..... The pain of plus!

Rarely they have but Jak two on the Vita store before the first and before the trilogy? seems a silly move

I read that there were some issues but that some people have been overrated about how bad they are

that's why i'm looking to get cross buy though, if the vita is that bad i can just switch

Think it was just an error on their part TBH.

They are great games - well worth a look if you don't have them. They look great on the PS3. I love the first game - one of my favourites from last gen. 2&3 go a bit open world and have a darker tone, which I was less keen on. Still strong games though.

Try pausing all downloads in background - worked for me when hell yeah froze (forcing me to turn ps3 off and restart machine)

Do this before starting the game.

Delighted XCOM is now Plus active, allowing many more gamers to experience this thoughtfully designed and affectionate rework of my number one all time game. However, I grabbed this on Steam a few weeks ago for a tenner and it runs beautifully. So sadly the PS3 version is unlikely to get more than a cursory viewing. Although for non PC Gamers this one's a top quality PS Plus entry.

I've seen that a lot, it's not that you're getting it free they're just not that great at always putting the right info on the expiration dates, especially if you have extended your sub recently and your old sub hasn't finished yet.

Which entry has no expiry?

Payday is in the form of full game trial + unlock, and so the trial will not have an expiry as it is free anyway!

Has anyone taken a BF3 premium retail install and changed it for a PS+ BF3 Premium HDD install?

I currently have BF3 fully installed from a retail disc but I am thinking about uninstalling that and reinstalling everything using the PS+ digital version so that I can have it accessible witout needing the disc. Has anyone do this, combined the PS+ download with BF3 premium?

Hi,
Yes - I just re-downloaded my BF3 Premium pass from my PSN download history. Not sure what happens with the Map packs but you could always download them again from your PSN account. Don't think it should change anything though as your packs, patches etc look like they are saved in the Game Data Utility folders.

No harm in trying!
