I'm interested on what you mean by this too, who would the latest version not be compatible for?

Jak 1 is awesome IMO - a really decent 3D platformer with a good structure. It has some difficulty spikes but is great fun.

2&3 are more widely liked but aren't as good IMO. They go for a darker tone and 2 adds in a GTA-lite open city hub which was horrible to navigate around.
There is good fun to be had in all three though.

They will always play second fiddle to Ratchet and Clank to me. Maybe even third fiddle after Sly Cooper...

I presume sony couldnt stop offering content for ps3 on plus anytime remotely soon after ps4 launch since folk will have subs running....maybe even queued. Id think surely they'd need to give a minimum of 12 months notice????

I think the big will games continue to come for at least another year on ps3 and vita. With ps4 launching it'll be mostly indie games on ps4 to start. Once the ps4 gets a bigger library of games i can see it being big games for ps4 and vita and indies for ps3 then over the course of a 2 year period ps+ free games slowly fading out on ps3.
I think us ps3 owners are safe for a couple of years yet lol.

I'll be getting PSN+ when I get my PS4. I don't need it for PS3 as my PS3 is just my Netflix box :P

I completed Jak and Daxter yesterday and am now going for 100%. I would say they stand up quite well, these HD remakes look decent, the characters are good and the game design is good.

The biggest problem I had is its a real throw back to last gen in a lot of cases (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing). There is no hand holding throughout which has become common practice these days. You are put into the world and left to find you own way around never really been told the controls or anything. There are no mission markers, maps ect and the menu navigation is terrible. I was on the last level when I discovered you can do a third step to the double jump, I had problems on the beach level because I hadn't been introduced to the upper jump attack.

None of that is really a problem if you're used to what games used to be like, but it is a bit of a shock playing it after been softened up by the dumb down nature of this generation. I would agree with Nedubiz that these are in third place after Ratchet and Sly, but it is still a very enjoyable games.

When Gaikai eventually launches, I hope that any ps3 games you have downloaded via ps+ will be available to stream free via Gaikai without any extra fee

Just finished Uncharted 2 (yeah I'm way behind) so went to get the 3rd and noticed it's a 38GB download

That will be one to download overnight, glad I don't have any traffic restrictions

Did I miss some news but didn't that trailer show AC3 as being an "Instant game"? I thought you couldn't play PS3 games on the PS4?

Its crazy that they make you download the online mode just to play the single player campaign.


They also show a LEGA game which was given away to VITA users, I guess this is just to demonstrate past content but the video isn't really clear and makes it look like PS4 content.

I actually think they might chuck some big games in for a good few years yet in order to sell more ps3's

I reckon "Knack" will be the first game to be given away on PS+ not including "Drive Club". There is talk that we may see more "lite" versions of games similar to Drive Club PS+

Gawd damn it. Ive lost my playstation to my wife now. She previously only played lego games but has now found jak and daxter. ...damn you plus.

Just downloaded AC3, this service really is unbelievable value

Jak and Dexter is good, and would be a contender for taking on Mario, but the enemies have no personalities. Take that snake in the jungle for instance. All it is doing is being stationary and looking mean!

Sly 1 is terrible, with inappropriate sound effects and even more dumber stationary enemies!

Grid 2 is £17.99 for psn+ subscribers on psn at the moment.

The other night there I thought they'd made a mistake and it was free but it was just the timed trial.

Just noticed Resident Evil Revelations for 17.99 on Plus, seems very reasonable for a half decent RE game.

I had a 90 day subscription which I won I a competition. It ran out a few days ago. When I get a new subscription, will the saves I uploaded to cloud storage be available again or are they now lost forever?

Everything will be there waiting for you
