I buy music and films.

Sony get ALOT of my money - and that's even before counting the games I buy.

Sony are a massive organisation - they have a film studio and could easily throw in a movie rental per week to make the subscription slightly more value for money.
I agree with that, and as you say, a lot of people would sign up then.

I agree - but as per usual - Sony miss a trick.

There are people crying out for a subscription service including film store rentals.

That would be nice, but if they offered a free rental everyweek nobody would use it the rest of the time! Thats just never gonna happen.

This is what *might* happen with the store too though. PS+ owner might think. Whats the point of buying xyz as there is a chance we'll get it as part of our sub in a few months.

It will happen, I am proof.

If I sign up (which I 90% will) then I will do exactly that, just wait and hope.

Thats holding out for a bargain, nothing new about that. If someone wants something enough they buy it rather than waiting for something that might never arrive.

I am pretty sure that once they have tested the water with this initial PSN+ service a movie offering wont be far behind.

yeah I know. Meanwhile I dont mind funding you PS+ folk when I buy without discount from the store

ps. I'm looking forward to them posting up month 3 and 4 come the time. I'm pretty sure I have the ones I wanted from PSN but maybe I've missed a few gems that could encourage me.....time will tell.

We may see discounts on movie store rentals and even purchases. As for freebies, i think it might be possible they'd offer 1 occasionally but i don't think it would become a regular part of PSN+.

I could be totally wrong but i think they'll wanna keep the emphesis of PSN+ on the gaming side. EDIT: By adding Live style feature etc.

Thats possible, but what you got to remember is sony can offer anything at anytime to PSN+ subscribers.

If your not in it you don't get it.

I wonder how Sony will market this to people who dont read forums or follow things as closely as us lot ?? ie. My brother and sister n law have PS3 but I bet they would look at me as though I was stupid if I asked them if they were getting PS+

The UK (at least) doesnt seem to like using the ticker tape thing on the XMB. Gawd knows why they dont use this.

I think they'll market it with an email and a prayer.

@thegetrealparty: Very good point, sony will have some suprises alone the way to get people to sign up.

A 360 fan would cover the noise at least. Another failing of Sony Not sure about the smell though.

My PS3 after about 3 minutes of gaming would cover up the sound of a giraffe giving birth so Sony aren't to blame!

I have my PS3 upright just to the right of my TV and beside a radiator.

My TV and PS3 are stood on top of my chest of drawers so it's pretty prominent.

I play with headphones on though as I like to hear footsteps so I can flank and kill folk!

I thought it was just a link in the store that would be available, from my understanding, that you can just select anytime & purchase it like a normal store item? I'm probably going to wait a couple of months to see what everyone's views are on it before taking the plunge

I was all for getting PSN+ then they announced it and there is nothing there of much use to me.

If they add cloud saves for all games and a 3 year warranty I may have a change of heart.
