T-mobile signal....
I must say i am very impressed with the signal so far. Had it a week and 1/2 and not one loss of signal so far whereas as other providers i always lost signal expecially in my home. I seem to have constant signal plus 3g where i am.
Anyone have any bad experiences with t-mobile and their signal. |

T-Mobile signal is good. But not fantastic. For example, I can't get signal at work on the LG Floor (Basement). Whereas people on O2 can get full signal.

I'm currently with Vodafone on Pay as You Go and have always found the signal very good.
I've just got a new HTC Desire and have been looking into prices for Sim Only with Internet. I'm only a light user regarding phone calls and text and so wouldn't really want to pay more than £15a month. To stay with Vodafone the best I can get is £10 a month for 300 minutes and 3000 texts which is way above what i would ever use plus I would have to pay £5 a month for 500MB of internet use. T Mobile do a £10 deal with 100 minutes and 100 texts which with their flexible booster I can get 1GB of internet use all included for the £10 The T Mobile deal is exactly what i need but I don't want to move from Vodafone if the signal is no good in many areas of the UK. Does anyone have any experience of T Mobile reception. |

The signal is dependant on where you are in relation to the nearest base station and any obstacles between you and it. Nothing more. I have strong coverage of all networks (2G and no '3' at all) where I live but that's only good news for those who live near me and don't wish to use any 3G services I guess!

I've used T-Mobile in the past, about five years ago, and at that time it was, frankly, crap. However, I've gone back to them on a sim only 30 day contract in the past month, and I've been impressed by how much they've improved - much more extensive 3G coverage than o2 or vodafone in the area I live in and, importantly, I've had no dropped calls - something which was a curse with them before. I think this is to a large extent due to the site share agreement between Three and T-Mobile, which has greatly increased their coverage in areas they didn't cover that well before.
Its worth saying too that T-Mobile are tying up with Orange before too long, and apparently one of the first ramifications of that is that T-Mobile and Orange customers will be able to roam onto each other's networks, thus increasing coverage further. Of course the overall implication of this is that T-Mobile 3G will eventually be making use of the existing T-Mobile network plus the Three and Orange networks. After years of them being largely in the wilderness anywhere outside the 3 main cities, I think T-Mobile is probably a pretty good network to be on at the moment. |

As T Mobile will allow you to import your old number from another network at any time, and not just at sign up, I might try the 30 Day Sim only deal with them for a few weeks first before I ask Vodafone for my PAC number. If T Mobile reception is no good in my area then I can stick with Vodafone, even if it does cost me £5 a month more.

T Mobile only seems to work were I live in Clacton down the road signal drops and goes to 2G most of the time around the town.
I found 3 better round the other end but T Mobile is better here and three was worse. Both networks still need to improve. |

T-Mobile seems reasonable in built up areas, but my experience of it outside towns, cities and motorways is it's pretty useless.
