Donkey Kong Country Returns
So what do we all think to this?
I was very surprised to learn this is the game Retro Studios had been working on this as I was hoping for a new Star Fox game. But none the less, I'm surprised in a pleasant way (Esp since Starfox 64 is coming to 3DS anyway). I love the original DKC games on SNES and this looks like a really good update. Glad they kept it in 2D so it will really shine in the gameplay department! Can never have enough 2D platformers these days. ![]() <DKCR Trailer> |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCA4D...eature=related The Game Over music was good too. I wonder if DKC2 and 3 will be remade too or is this just a remake of 1. It was really good how the music changed accordlngly and sort of built as you went into the more challenging part of the level. I'd like to see a Diddy Racing remake if that cant be on VC, that was awesome on N64

Yeah as mentioned, it's not a direct remake but more a new DKC using the same concept.
I think we should all go back to the original game and see how we get on. I never completed it, I remember getting stuck on a jump that was so hard to get past I gave up!

I almost gave up on the snowy level with the spinning barrels, but persevered and stared at the barrels until I worked out the timing. I am looking forward to this new game which so far looks pretty dahn good which im sure is gonna have plenty more annoyingly hard levels too. |

I think I completed all 3 with my bro's help back in the day, I'm trying DKC3 on GBA but had to give up on that bl**dy Riverside Race level
![]() I really liked the Brothers Bear element in that game and the RPG-ish element they gave it

I so want Diddy Kong Racing to come out whether it's on the VC or a "re-imagining" for the Wii.
I love the music to the Haunted Woods track, on of my favourite pieces of gaming music:= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lQ2hLoLAMA |

I'm looking forward to this.
It's clearly not going to be in the same league as the SNES games by Rare, but it's still looking good. I've been wating another DK platformer for years. |

A remake of Diddy Kong Racing could be great. I know they tried it on DS but it wasnt very good apparently.

Maybe Diddy Racing will come to VC (or maybe not since Microsoft have Banjo now)
That was great, I liked the way you went through Diddy as if it were a platform game, with bosses and objects to find and stuff I wish my N64 still worked

Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 and 3 had some of the best music I have ever heard in a computer game, it even makes some of the Mario level music sound boring in comparison. I wonder what they will have composed for Donkey Kong Country Returns....

I hope they use the original music or modernise it (actually not modernise but still keep the original music and feel of it).

My top tip is to play it on HBC and just keep saving every now and then once you get past each hard bit. That way you dont have to keep on doing the level over and over form the beginning or last check point..
