and is it significant in some way??

Clutching at straws probably. when young Amelia gave him the apple with the face that her mother put on it, he looked at it and said "I'll keep that for later"

Told you, straws....clutching..... but....

I'd have thought it would have gone soft by now.

lol..... very good!

i assumed (maybe incorrectly) that he apple was used again 'later' to convince amy that the doctor is a time traveller!

although i think someone else mentioned that the smile on the skin of the apple holds connotations with the cracks in the skin of the universe!!

Omg I really have to start looking into things more with doctor who rather than thinking that the apple was just used (like the tie with martha) to prove that the doctor could travel in time but it must have something to do with it. Well it might not but you know?

I doubt it, he gave it back to her to convince her and then it disappeared so presumably she dropped it and it's now a two year old apple tree on leadworth village green!

I'm surprised the nibbled bits didn't go brown by the time The Doctor showed it to Amy in TEH. When I bite into an apple then leave it for a bit it goes brown.

It served its purpose, and will now have gone bad.
