Desire/Android - need to setup appt on calender every 3 weeks?

Hi there,

My wife has got a Desire + she wanted to set a couple of appointments up on the calendar:

Showing something for the whole week for every 3rd week

and

Showing one day a week for the next 5 weeks.

We can't seem to find the option to repeat something every 3rd week + also the option to repeat something for a certain duration.

Are we missing something here?

Did not really want to have to set it up with Outlook and then sync the phone with Outlook.

Cheers, Mark.

Get Calendar Pad (free in the market) which is, I think, a much easier to see/use calendar app than the stock Google one.

I just tried to add an event and it had the option of "Every third Monday (or whatever day you first choose)" so that should do the trick. (This can also be set through the Google Calendar web interface too).

If you add an event through the Google Calendar web interface, you can set an end date for the repetition.

Thanks for that.

I was wondering if forthcoming appointments are shown on the main screen as a list (instead of having to open the app)?

Thanks.

I've not used the Sense UI that ship on HTC phones, so I don't know. It might well do.

Otherwise, download Android Agenda Widget (free or paid plus version) which does the job beautifully

You can add the HTC Calendar widget which takes up a screen but has a list of all the upcoming appointments.

There you go then

If you want something smaller, then try the app that I recommended. Has about 10 different widget sizes!

Hi there - I have installed a few calendars (inc calendar Pad) and they still don't seem to let me select a date of say Monday - Sunday and then repeat it every 3rd week (you would have to go in and select the Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun individually and then say to repeat them every 3rd week).

Also I can't seem to find the option to say repeat for a certain number of weeks.

Cheers, Mark.

You can only do the end date through Google Calendar on the web.

I can't work out how I did the 'every three weeks' now, but you can certainly do it on the web too

Obviously the Desire with Android has a less capable calendar app then the Touch Pro 2 with Windows Mobile 6 that I have got. That is a piece of the proverbial to set up with a repeating appointment.

It would certainly do everything that Mark in Essex requires with a few taps of the Stylus. Took me about 2 mins to set up both repeating events from the OP.

I always say that the one way to get the best out of the calendar on Android is to link it to your Gmail account for email / calendar. I've just tried setting up an event with the OPs requirements through Google calendar, and setting the repetition for every three weeks with no end date was a doddle. Sync my phone and it's there - setup and ready to use..

Thanks for that.

Will have to give it a go that way.
