Studio webcams
Do you ever watch them? If so what stations?
These are my choices http://coaststudio.ath.cx:8081/ http://www.key103.co.uk/Article.asp?...662&spid=18060 |

![]() Also, the reason it was a 6 Music studio, is because them and R2 are both under Bob Shennan and in a lot of instances in London in Broadcasting house and around the rest of the UK, it's very likely that their studios are in the same building and are frequently used by each other - Steve Lamacq's show on R2 on Saturday night being an example of this - he normally does it from 6 Music's back up studio!

I used to watch the old Danny Baker one on the BBC London site before they got rid of it. It was a live broadcast of the studio with the audio over it. Sometimes they would forget to switch it off and you could see the other presenters in there afterwards.

Nope, don't watch them. What's the point? Radio is for listening to, not looking at at.
Complete waste of money and resources. |

Weekend presenters didn't turn it on. I am not really a big fan of them but we have had some big competitions going recently and installed it at the request of the sponsor so the draw could be watched by listeners who had entered. |

In the past, I’ve watched the live web stream from Radio Scilly as well as live web cams at Q97.2 and Q101 in Northern Ireland.
Anyone know of other stations that stream live video from their studios? |

I guess they use a lot of the Radio 2 studios at the weekends for pre-records or they do some work on them, so they don't use them live. Johnnie Walkers show is sometimes live. Steve Wright SLS is sometimes Live I think, but you can never tell. I remember hearing Michael Parkinson used to pre-record his show on a Sunday morning before airing at 11am.

Why can't the Capital and Hearts use webcams or live video streaming that isn't Facebook Live? It'd be great to attract a new audience!

Aren't studio webcams a bit of a thing of the past ?
Radio 2 haven't used them for a few years now. |

Whatever happened to the BBC ones? I sometimes used to have a quick look.
Steve Wright never has his turned on for some reason. I'm intrigued by the studio set ups. You get a vision in your mind, but it never looked like that! |

He's always there during his weekday shows, just he prerecords all his links in the morning before the show. So there's no mistakes I suppose. He then just sits with it and plays them out in the afternoons.
