Englands footie result: Doctor Who Promoted?

With England's dire footie performance tonight, we can now assume IF they get through, they probably will not finish top of the table. So, does this mean that the BBC will now concentrate on their flagship Saturday show rather than a footie match?

The DW finale has the potential of a 8-10 million audience if the rumours about this week's episode being brilliant are true.

So, who reckons that Doctor Who will now be on later than 6.05pm?

Maybe they should get him to play for them.

Since the last episode of Doctor Who I've had to sit through 3 hours of dire England performances. Thank goodness for DW tomorrow to raise the spirits!

You're right! The Doctor put in a sterling performance! Get rid of that donkey Heskey, put The Doctor up front!

At least Heskey was doing something, I say the doc should up and replace Rooney who was like a big lemon tonight! He would so have been bolder... I can see the episode title now 'The Bother of the Algerians'

So England's second round game will be a week tomorrow?

Ahh, that could be a great evening. An England loss and the Doctor Who finale. One can dream.

I don't think it will be now. If England win their group then it will be on 26th june. If they come second (possible but unlikely.....they probably won't even qualify, the wet muppets) then it will be on another day. Hence why I was asking about whether people thinkl that Doctor Who will be put into a later slot.

II think depending on where they finish(if the qualify) there next game after that could be on the same Saturday as the Doctor Who last episode....I think!

It will be on later than 6pm, in fact 6.40pm according to this:
http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsSe...s_fullpage.jsp
Saturday 19 June
6:40pm - 7:30pm
BBC1
12/13 - The Pandorica Opens
A long-lost Van Gogh canvas surfaces in Churchill's bunker, but what dire fate does it foretell for the Doctor and Amy? The one woman who can deliver this warning across time is River Song (Alex Kingston - having a riot here in a multitude of guises). To reveal much more would spoil the fun in the first of a delirious two-part finale that almost gushes with surprises. The entire season has been building to this point: the enigma of Amy, the crack in time, Rory's death, the police box fragment, a persistent fairy-tale vibe... and the pay-offs are rewarding. Weeks ago, River dropped hints about the Pandorica opening. Tonight, we learn that it's "a box, a cage, a prison", meant to contain "the most feared thing in the universe". But what is its connection with Stonehenge? There's more heartbreak for Amy, and dismembered Cyber body parts are the least of the Doctor's worries, as dark forces gather "under Henge". Stand by for Doctor Who at its ambitious, epic best.

That's tomorrow's episode, I think the OP is referring to The Big Bang on the 26th.

Appreciate your trouble in posting the above, but I was referring to the final episode scheduled currently for a 6.05pm slot on 26th June. Apologies if I caused confusion.

Great deduction Daveyboy, that's what this thread is all about
If England is 1st in their group (C) they play Saturday 26th at 19:30 h., so just after DW. If they are 2nd they play Sunday 15:00 h., so one day later than THE DW finale.

Is it England's footie downfall you can't wait for or the fabulously exciting last episode of our favourite show, or both?

Do you think England were androids tonight and they were malfunctioning? Were we actually watching an episode of Doctor Who and part two is next week where the Tardis materialises and destroys the androids and reverts the players back to proper footballers?

Or even worse, were we watching a bunch of over paid muppets mincing around a field waiting for the pub to open?

The BBC might show the Saturday game live anyway even if it doesn't involve England, so i doubt it would be moved.

If they do somehow manage to fluke their way through the next game, if we somehow win the group and play on the Saturday at 1930, then the beeb will want to start the buildup probably an hour earlier... at the bare minimum by 1845, i'd have thought... so may force an 1800 start?

They've still got to get that far though, and taking on the Slovenians (are they possibly distant relatives of the Slitheens? ) might need the Doctor's help - he can't be any worse than Gerrard and Lampard tonight, they made the King's Arms look good!

They might do, but if it isn't England then it isn't going to be as big a deal as the DW finale. I guess we'll have to wait and see! I'm at my sisters wedding that day but I'm hoping to sneak into the side room and watch Doctor Who hoping no-one will notice I'm gone. So, it could make a big difference to me as to what time it's on......I have to make a speech as I am giving her away. Can't really bugger off to watch DW if my speech is due!

I think you're right. I reckon Sharaz jek has kidnapped the whole team and replaced them with androids for a laugh.

Or your second option could be more accurate, but it's an insult...to muppets!

Of course you can-just fake a bout of food poisoning and stay at home! God, does no-one have their priorities straight anymore?

I told her not to get married that day and for the very reason that it was likely to be the date of the DW finale. I told her and I was serious. She didn't listen though. Very inconsiderate.

Both. But moreso the latter, of course.
