NHK World HD is transmitting on SKY free just after Sky News HD. I've suddenly taken an interest in Japan

BBC Executive has published its priorities and summary workplan for 2011/12. It includes...
BBC One HD Nations Opts
BBC One HD launched as a network only service in November 2010, with a view to adding BBC One Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in HD at a subsequent point. Assuming current levels of output continue, these changes are scheduled for delivery from 2012. This would allow viewers in the Nations in HD homes to access the same service in HD as they currently do in standard definition. This would create a more developed BBC One HD service, which better reflects the UK. There would be greater visibility of Nations’ content and services within HD homes.

Notable service developments in the coming year
• BBC HD will maintain its commitment to moving into HD established programmes from across the portfolio. Over the next year, Mock the Week, Mastermind, Masterchef: the Professionals, The Russell Howard Show, and Only Connect will all be broadcast in HD for the first time on BBC HD.
• We will also bring to viewers exciting new programmes from across the BBC’s channels, including Frozen Planet, Dinosaur Planet (working title), Great Expectations, The Birth of Islam, Frontline Medicine, the Origins of Us and Art of America.
• We will continue to bring HD viewers coverage of significant live events which the BBC broadcasts, including the Chelsea Flower Show, which has not been seen in HD for a number of years, as well as Wimbledon and other sporting events, the Proms, and Glastonbury.
• These programmes will be in addition to titles already well established in HD, including Top Gear, Railway Walks, Later with Jools Holland, Horizon, Natural World, Dr Who Confidential, and Lead Balloon.

3D transmissions I would guess, but as it's encrypted we can't see it to know for certain what they are broadcasting.

Film 4 hd woukd be awesome, as would watch hd be a good addition as they show quite a few movies dave though i cant see a need for as its all old repeats isnt it?

Says here that with "scripps" buying virgin's 50% stake in UKTV, we should expect to see a few UKTV channels launching in HD on Sky, starting with Dave.

Personally, I believe Watch and Home would be best suited for HD, any thoughts?

Good news although as a fan of Castle and now Body of Proof I would have preferred Watch and Alibi in HD now and Dave later (or all three together)

I'm sorry (that's a little bit off-topic). Does anyone know the average bitrate of Sky Atlantic HD?
Anyway, I think Alibi and Dave would be very fine choice to switch to HiDef

Do we have a list of confirmed new HD stations & their approx start date.

There was a new channels information page which was updated till a couple of years ago & this is the soft of page which is needed now as much if not more than when it was in use.

Bit too early for channel numbers I know but I would like a channel placeholder as soon as it was decided just for continuity reasons so when the SD channel moves people arnt then wondering where it is.

A placeholder both can give information as too the place where the SD station is and gives a tidied EPG.

Anyone agree or am I a little too over ambitious?

Regards

Dan

That list is now just an embarrassment to Digital Spy.

You would think the pride of this site would require someone spending half an hour making it remotely accurate.
