I am also well aware that Film 4 HD is on Virgin. That is irrelevant to this thread/forum as tt1986 says. Clearly I am on about wanting it to get a move on coming to Sky HD. I suspect not many people with Sky HD are going to have Virgin HD boxes as well (yourself excepted of course) or will get one to view one extra HD channel.
You may have to wait a long time for FilmFour HD to be on Sky because it is an exclusive channel to Virgin, I do not know when the Contract ends
so I cannot guess when it is likely to come to Sky if ever it comes to Sky

It might not ever come to Sky meaning it will always be an exclusive channel to Virgin and remain so even in the longer term

That doesn't take us any further since you clearly don't have a clue what the actual truth of the position is other than that it is currently on Virgin but not Sky. We know that. By the same token the exclusivity deal may have already ended and it could be on Sky within weeks or months.

It may simply be a question for Channel 4 and Sky as to when it appears on Sky HD (if at all) and on what basis. It is possible it could have been on Sky already if a deal had been done.

I'd simply like to see it there is my point - but it's not up to me...

I think if the Virgin exclusivity has indeed ended Sky do not want this channel on the EPG as having a FTA HD film channel might cause people to cancel sky movies package.

I think Sky don't want this channel on the EPG as having a free HD film channel might cause people to cancel sky movies package.
MGM HD seems to have had no problem..

Because MGM HD is a joint venture between Sky and MGM so it is in effect a Sky Movies channel and part of the movies package (a bonus channel for subscribing to movies 1 & 2 subscriptions)

Also can have this channel for £5 a month if you don't subscribe to movies package..

If that were really the case there wouldn't be any FTA movie channels on Sky in SD or HD. Can't see too many Sky Movies subs being cancelled if Film 4 HD suddenly arrived given Film 4 SD is already there.

TCM HD is supposed to be arriving soon.

In any case Film4 are costing themselves quite a few viewers by not being in HD on Sky.

Correct!
Same argument to be used as to why it took ITV so long to finally come on board satellite.
Still as they say "It'll all come out in the wash!"

According to the Sky channels thread this has EPG data from next Tuesday (28 Aug) so looks as if it might possibly arrive that morning.

...although they may want to test it with the epg data running for a while. I guess we'll have to wait and see, given there has been no official announcement. You would think they would say something specific soon to give it a big launch.

RT (Russia Today) is currently running HD tests - preview loop - for both its English and Spanish news services on Astra at 19 east and for its English news and documentary channels on Hot Bird at 13 east. All say Coming Soon.

I wonder if this means we can also expect RT HD on Sky soon.

what makes you think Sky has anything to do with it?
it'll be up to the owners of the channel to decide if they wish to re-launch their HD channel.
