BT Sport 1 and 2 launched today on channels 445 and 447 on the Sky EPG.

The new logo is there with news that they are coming soon.

Both appear to be SD. On BT they have launched two HD channels with the logos as well as the SD ones today.

Hopefully Sky is going to get these HD versions.

ESPN is staying and it's American rights are assimilating into it

BT Sport 1 & 2 in HD will be on the 2nd page of the Sky EPG,
not sure of exact numbers so wont quote any,
along with ESPN HD.

Hoping for recordable HD Red button to take in those mammoth rights to ALL matches in their European league rights.

Hoping for no clashes and no games in Spain Germany France or Italy kicking off in the blackout period.

if, and this is a big 'if', BT Sports 1 & 2 launch in HD on the Sky EPG, then they would surely be subject to the HD channel swap!

There is absolutely no reason why it should not launch on SKY
Other Channels have, these are no different.
You're should also be right about the HD swap.

Are the HD versions on BT Vision/YouView internet streamed?
Presumably they are as there's no UHF capacity to carry them.

H2 appears to be HD already, it's just not labelled as such!

if H2 does not get an SD simulcast, it would be the first channel that I know of (thats not a FTA or even FTV), that doesnt have an SD simulcast!

Evidently you are not very observant - MGM HD.

The PQ is only SD at the moment.

NHK World HD also doesn't have an SD simulcast.

Edit: sorry just noticed you said non FTA or FTV.

H2 is an SD channel, it is not HD, it is just that the programmes are incorrectly flagged as HD.

Oh right so really they are waiting for the HD channel then? Then the HD channel swap will kick in and H2 where it is now will then be HD properly!

When live sports and music is not shown is there any restriction on outputting a simulcast of BBC Three or Four content in HD?

I know this wont happen but it technically could.

They're running late. Still no Red Button HD on Sky as far as I can see. I notice the above link says it is "subject to commercial agreement"

There's no BBC Red Button HD on satellite at all. They simply aren't broadcasting it.

I found this comment on 17 June from Alix Pryde, BBC Distribution, who seems to think it is on Freesat, and explains why it's not yet on Sky:

@IAN JAMES THOMPSON, @popeye13, @darrenb, in answer to your question, I can confirm that the BBC Red Button HD service for summer 2013 launched on 13 June and is available on Freeview HD / YouView (at channel 303) on Virgin Media (at channel 994) and on Freesat (at channel 980). Unfortunately we have not yet been able to reach agreement with Sky.

Check the newer post 30:

As @DragonQ and @Bargain dave point out, sadly, BBC Red Button HD is not currently available to Freesat viewers either. I hope you'll understand if I don't go into detail on ongoing conversations about listing on Sky except to say that we're working with Sky on both matters. I can confirm that Red Button HD remains available on Freeview HD at channel 303 and Virgin Media at channel 994.
It is not currently being broadcast on satellite.

So is the next scheduled HD channel Film 4 HD? What happened to QVC HD? Thought they were going HD when they moved to their new studios last year?

Not HD but UK Drama that was supposed to be Freeview only launched this morning (SD only) on Sky 291.

All UK drama series like The Bill, Rumpole, Born and Bred, Monarch of the Glen (most from the start).

Yes when will QVC HD launch. My wife is a great fan and can't wait to watch it in HD. IMHO the PQ has improved over the last year.
