Home based IPTV
Hi,
Can any one point me to a good place to start looking into a home based IPTV set up from scratch. I have a PS3, Sky+ and Freesat which currently use Digisenders but the distance is a problem. The PC network is “N” and gives a good coverage so looking to create a cheap IPTV system. Thanks |

You mean you're just trying to do some video streaming via your network?

Yes, think so, I used an Amino box, when working, that allowed the PC to see and a range of sources, I think from a media server running Triple-play software. I wondered if I could recreate this at home (cheaply).

I use an Acer Rivo as has HDMI out. Very nice piece of kit and fast too. I bought the Unix version then put on Win XP myself.
I have created a front end for it using HMTL with some links to some nifty video streaming sites I found, also local photos, games and music. |
