It would be quite amusing if she eventually sat them all down to reveal her "big secret" and they were just like, "Yeah, we know".

I have got every admiration for Nadia. I think she's doing a fantastic job of just being Nadia - as opposed to being "somebody who has had a sex change and is now on the telly". She could so easily be poisonously precious about the whole thing - but she's not - she's just being true to herself.

More power to her .. and long may she keep the others in suspense as to her true status. She should be seen as just being Nadia and be supported as such.

i think/hope she would say something to the man in question just before it got too heavy should they nearly get down to anything.. i think it would freak the 'men' out far too much should they do anything together and then find out after.. ahmed for sure..!
she does have a masculine upper body shape - that triangular heavy shouldered shape.
but true - how would you mention it casually! maybe marco might in a lighthearted way!

It could be they are too close to notice. I know it sounds daft. But seing things close too is not the best way to discern what they are, more intellectual FMs could probably give examples in fine art. We see her through a tv or computer screen. Also remember they have only been told her name and she entered last of the girls and made the numbers even. Who can honestly say in that position you may would probably think 'she looks a bit butch' or in our crueler schoolboy days you would say to a mate ' Don't fancy yours much' When footage of other BB worldwide shown when a transexual was in the house, I remember never thinking that the transexual mentioned was on first glance.

Basically what I am saying is it is blindingly obvious to us, but then we know the truth.

What is this hang up Straight men have? - If you find something sexually attractive then you find it sexually attractive!
So why be devastated? What stops him? Thought of the other "Real Men" would say?

Strainge that Men can have full sex with someone they find attactive, enjoy it and even bragg to their friends how good it was - All is OK until change a small part of their understanding - then it's disgust and shame?!

And why once a Bloke always a bloke?
To put it crudely, if a very flat chested women has sergery with 44 Double D inplants; Blokes don't give a shi* that they ain't "real" breasts, they're Great and would also feel no shame if their mates knew - But if a bloke has the same OP these breast are different!?
...and when they have had serveral OPs and now have all the woman bits in all the right places: Does this not make a woman?
If it is lack of a womb, do real women stop being real women if they should loose theirs?

Absolutely agreed – Smeagol.
From personal experience – Nadia's OK.

I'm glad Nadia confessed her secret to the public before she went into the house because it stops any speculation about her which the papers were bound to bring up, as they're always looking for the dirt on H/M's. Now we all know who she is, it's easy for people to say "Yes, I know she was a he, I could tell", personally I wouldn't have guessed, not straight away anyway.

The fact she hasn't told the H/M's yet is interesting, why?, because at this moment they are treating her the same as any of the other females in there, for who she is, not because of her gender, they see her as Nadia.

When they find out will be interesting, to see if their opinions and attitude change towards her, I suspect they will, particularly from the men and in particular from Ahmed, after seeing his views on gays in his interview for his application, despite seemingly getting on with her at present.

Their attitudes will change – they won't be able to help themselves – particularly the straight blokes. Ahmed, Victor... mind you, everyone's being so careful at these early stages...

I don't see why any of them should change their opinion of her or the way they view her when they find out she used to be male - she's female now both in mind and body so they should keep seeing her that way.
I have to admit I thought her face shape was very masculine and a bit of a giveaway, but she's still very pretty.

[quote=celticgirl]Apparently Nadia's name in her previous life was JORGE... article about her in one of the tabloids today. Apparently her mother was deeply upset when she decided to have the op. QUOTE]

Spooky really, but Nadia reminds me of Jorge of 'The Salon' fame, mainly the accent. Only got C4 at the moment, swithering whether it's worth getting the old E4 back on or not....

I agree. They should[u] keep seeing her that way – but we'll see whether they will or not... it's guaranteed to polarise opinions. But they'll prob. try to keep those opinions to themselves...

Nah! It would be much better if she told the man in question (and let's hope it is Ahmed) the morning after!

It's obvious if you've been told that there's a transexual in the house. But the housemates haven't and - if any of them have their suspicions - they're probably keeping quiet about it at this stage. I'd expect the nudges and whispers to become obvious as the week progresses”

Agree with last assesment--they just don't know each other well enough yet to start confiding in each other about it. I'd say a few of the sharper ones are certain about it; Dan, I'd imagine, would know.

But re not suspecting if you didn't know there was going to be a transexual housemate, I'd say no way. I didn't know about it beforehand, but as soon as I saw 'her', I was like, "That's a man." To me, it is incredibly obvious; imagine how much more so it must be in the flesh.

Also, knowing how desperate BB is getting to do something wild n crazy with the series, having a transexual in sooner or later was inevitable; even without knowing specifically there would be one this year, they should have been suspecting it generally, especially after how dull and 'normal' BB4 was.

I don't think Nadia will be very quick to enlighten them all.

She has entered that house and they are treating her at face value, and why should'nt they? This is probably very refreshing to Nadia that she can now be the person she has prob craved to be for many years, without knowing looks, strange questions and ignorance.

I do believe she had every intention of telling them before she went in to the house, but the total acceptance of her as a woman by people that are not judging her is probably to much of a valuable thing for her to relinquish.

Coz 'real' men fuk women and women are always the fuk*ed*; when men start penetrating each _other_, the whole concept of masculinity is destabilised. Masculinity is a pretty tenuous construct, and must be fiercely defended by those who define themselves by it lest they--horror--be associated with the perceived weakness of women.

If Nadia is very clever she will save telling them (if she ever does to decide to) untill she feels a target on her back at nominations!

She could then share her story, spice it up and shed a few tears and BINGO... she will then get the sympathy, and maybe buy herself another week regarding nominations by housemates.

sorry Smeagol but if anyone wrote something as drenched in stereotypes and generalisations about homosexual men as you wrote about het men then they'd be rightly condemned.

please don't tar us all with the same blokey brush

I couldn't have put that better myself. How you can go from tub-thumping in one thread to generalising like this in another is beyond me.

I wouldn't have guessed that Nadia used to be a man. However if you were faced with a choice of having to pick one of the six girls as having undergone gender reassignment then I think I would have picked her. It's hard to define why, there is still an element of male stature about her.

There was an interesting converstion on earlier about the pros of breast feeding.. Shell seemed to be leading the discussion, and unless I am mistaken, she genuinly asked Nadia... if she would breast feed if she had a child. Nadia spluttered a slightly bemused .. NO. I stand corrected of course in case I heard it wrong, but if I didnt hear it wrong, then Shell needs a pair of contact lenses fast. I could see Nadia's status through a TV screen in one second. Shell was sitting next to her on the sofa !!! I am baffled.
