My father in law has a sony kdl46x2000 lcd tv and has had it from new.

Now, when you press the epg button the tv pops, shuts off then restarts itself. It doesnt do it all the time, but fairly regularly. Thing is, it doesnt do it if you access the epg thru the menu button.

Is this likely to be a software problem? I cant see anything in the menu to do a forced download or check the current version.

I told him that if it continues then just get a freeview box and use the epg on that. Just wondered if anyone knows what its likely to be?

have you tried a restore to factory setting or something like that, often sorts these types of problem
