Will FetchTV Flop because of Project Canvas
Project Canvas is due soon, so I wonder if FetchTV will flop.

You can see the fear that both BskyB and Virgin Media are showing with their protests and hypocritical comments about the BBC using licence fee money to get Project Canvas up and running. They don't like the competition! I would think that a small player like FETCH may well be hit. I got their box immediately it came on the market but very quickly sold it when it dawned on me that this new PCanvas venture would likely go ahead.

No one knows what Canvas is going to be like, it could the biggest load of hype after the Iphone and not worth bothering with. It could be the best system out there and everyone who have a decent broadband service will flock to it.
It is classed as freeview mark II, I not impressed with Freeview Mk I, so it would have to be 1000% better, but I doubt it as no doubt the compression on the content will be so high that we will be below Freeview picture quality, which to be honest most of the time is a total waste of time. We will wait and see if/when this project canvas launches what it will be like, but I know one thing, as long as Talk Talk got their feet under the table I am staying well away. |

Depends if Netgems boxes are being adapted to work with Canvas/Youview?
http://www.netgem.com/fetchTV.php However Youview users might be able to choose from either Fetch or Lovefilm for films and Fetch could do well! |
