Currently have an N95 and am well overdue an upgrade. Can't afford an iPhone so was thinking Nokia X6 or HTC Desire?

What would you recommend? Thanks

The HTC Desire wins for me. (I have one, wife has an X6). The X6 does have a better music player and 32GB of in-built memory (the Desire only has a 4GB card in it, but you can upgrade), but the Desire has a bigger screen, much faster processor and I much prefer the Android OS. There also seems to be a better choice of games/apps in the Android Market as opposed to the Ovi Store. The Desire is newer and more expensive phone to buy SIM-free, so if you're choosing betwen the 2 for the same money, I'd get the HTC.

Thank you for your reply, very helpful

Just out of interest, is your wife happy with her X6? And is it lighter than the HTC?

I wouldn't worry about not being able to afford the iPhone. Try the HTC and the iPhone in the store for a good 10 minutes each. Most people I know who've done that have then opted for the HTC, enjoying the Android OS and the decent handset that the HTC Desire is.

I have an X6, its made off horrible cheap plastic, You are scared of breaking it, its so cheap, It also hasn't got enough memory and also freezes up, Horrible phone, only thing it has going for it is the large memory,

The wife was happy with the X6 until she saw the Desire! The X6 is lighter, but doesn't feel as solid or well-made as the Desire. I can't see the 'Unlock' switch on the X6 lasting for the 2 year contract. It feels like it will break off. Whilst the X6 is very good, the Desire is better.
