I am looking for a Panasonic TX-P50G20B, are they in short supply?

I tried to order it via John Lewis website and the local John Lewis store but they were out of stock. The store wouldn't even take an order to fix the price with an offer of a free Blu Ray player and 5 year guarantee. A local store agreed to match the price with the free offers but were out of stock. I placed and order, but that was over two weeks ago.

Is demand so high that Panasonic can't cope or are they about to be replaced?

David

There are quite a few G20's about but Panasonic supply chain is Chaotic to say the least, when these promotions are run (Free player etc.) they never seem able to meet demand. They are currently struggling like hell to fulfil orders for there 3D sets (VT20) & also the V20, there are so many people on waiting lists for them it will be around August/September before they can satisfy demand despite increasing production by 30%. The trouble with dealers not wanting to take your order is mainly down to unreliable delivery dates which can cause bad feeling & is something the dealer has no control over. If you are a memeber of Costco they have had massive stocks of the G20 @ £939 Including VAT but I don't think they are doing the player promotion.

i to am waiting for a G20 46'', told it was in stock but come the delivery day the company rang to say that it hadn't turned up. However they did loan me a replacement tv which gives me a chance to play around with until the correct one turns up. Seems Panasonic didn't forecast demand for the units this year. I've no complaints regarding the local company who are as frustrated as heck.

I have been told that my Panasonic TX-P50G20B is now in stock. The local department store Fenwick matched the John Lewis price offer of £1299 with a free blu ray player. It should be delivered on Tuesday.
