Can anyone advise me whether UK landline phones can be used in Spain.
The sockets are different obviously and the Maplin catalogue only mentions US/UK adapters. Are the US ones the same as Spain?

Yes, most will work but it's safer to spend a few quid getting a proper converter with a built-in ring capacitor. Spain uses RJ11 plugs and sockets like the USA.

Maplin's product code VD36P (£6.99) is the one with the ringing interface (the capacitor) which allows the phone to ring.

Many thanks Heinz for that. I've a few phones spare here, so I didn't want to buy yet another!
