My friend has just left BT and has given me her box rather than throw it away.

I have Sky and do not use any BT services.

The box is a HD PVR DIT 421/05

Can I do anything with it ?

Yes I believe you can use it as a freeview pvr, the only thing you wouldnt be able to do is download content for viewing without the bt service/broadband.

EDIT; Having read other posts on DigitalSPy and AVforums, I dont think you will be able to use it without bt service, apparently it receives the EPG from the internet connection.

as per skaterdies - the hard drive can be flogged.

without a btinternet connection - it will not work. bt have locked it down so that only their customers can use it.
