I totally agree with you guys. Channel 4 have tried to go completely opposite from last year's contentants, but they are all vacant, annoying weirdos!
I'll be giving the rest a miss.

they must be trying to piss off the homophobic demographic
media guardian is reporting that BB5 viewing figures are good, the first monday show had about as many viewers as the same show on BB4 but was against much stiffer competition. BB is doing fine.
Basically the BB ratings have grown steadily over the years - the highest ever rating were with BB4's launch show but unlike previous years BB4 ratings declined rather than grew.
BB4 was NOT a flop. Its ratings were great for c4 in that timeslot the voting was down slightly but not drastically. The only way it flopped was that it was deemed boring but thats only because the people in there were just normal people rather than the slightly eccentric BB normally thrives on.
If the ratings of BB5 equal those of BB4 then it will be back next year because the ratings were fantastic in the 16-24 age bracket - something advertisers are desperate for. All this rubbish about BB being in trouble is media spin. Ignore it and enjoy what looks to be the most explosive sereis yet!
yeah even if BB5 doesn't improve on BB4 it'll still be among C4's highest rated programmes for the year. thats the simple fact a lot of people couldn't get last year.
well said trash80 - its one of the reasons the Big Breakfast was given so many chances before finally being axed - sure the ratings did drop drastically down to 300,000 in its last year but they were in the elusive 16-24 demographic - the advertisers favourite! Big Brother gets that age range easily, c4 won't axe it short of a major, major ratings plummit.
It's pretty clear from industry analysis that "ratings figures" are voodoo magic and that no-one knows how many people are watching a show. They can guess to the nearest million using "peoplemeters" (i.e. click the button to indicate what you're watching) or phone polls but both are wildly innacurate.
