I bought an iPhone 4 from Apple, I already have phone insurance with o2 and so phoned up O2 to arrange to transfer onto an iPhone 4.

I gave them the IMIE number and now they want me to fax proof of purchase of to them.

anyone found a simpler way to do this, as I dont have a fax machine.

TIA

Can't you scan it and send it to them that way?

Forgive me for not answering the question but on the subject of o2 insurance do you really think it's worth £15 per month !?

Got my iphone 4 today and nearly choked when they quoted me that figure.

Go to your nearest o2 store and ask them to fax it through. I asked about this today and they said it would be fine to do that.
IMO £15 a month is a nominal amount, considering the cost of replacement or repair of the handset if such a circumstance should arise. With or without a handset, once you sign a contract you still have to pay it, so I'd rather do it with a brand spanking new handset rather than just a sim.

The excess is now £75 and increases each time a claim is made. Still a lot cheaper than buying a new phone out right but pricey all the same.
Can anyone recommend and 3rd party iPhone insurers?

That's a bit much really compared to vodafone insurance which is 12.99 a month, £50 excess which doesn't increase.

Interestingly when you buy a phone in-store they make you sign something to say you declined insurance. Not sure why they do this.
