I was just setting my Foxsat-HDR to record the new series of "The IT Crowd" on Friday night from the guide screen, table view.

Only on this and CHN4+1 next to the "Series Link" symbol it also has a blue coloured plus sign for some programs only.

Is this a new thing? does it do anything?

Wonder if its anything to do with the RECOM CRID's (although apparently these aren't implemented)?

Just checked and its not on my IT Crowd link, however the blue plus sign is on Big Brother and Alan Carr Chatty Man links. The only thing different is that both of these have two sets of RECOM CRID's one of which is the same as the SERIES CRID for the IT Crowd (which itself has a single RECOM CRID).

Sorry but I am so tired I can't be bothered to post the CRID info.

As an addition to the above I have noticed that whilst the mystery blue symbol does not appear when selecting the IT Crowd on the schedule planner it does appear when browsing the EPG.

I found the thread on CRID's http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...highlight=crid but no mention if these are the cause of the extra sysmbol in the Guide and will the HDR take any note of them?

I was just hazarding a guess that it was related to the RECOM CRID's as the only programs that seem to have the strange blue symbol have RECOM CRID's with them. Bob_Cat says in the thread that they are not implemented so it does seem strange that these would be causing the blue symbol to appear. I wonder if we have found a "feature" in the firmware

I noticed these when setting up C4's "The Untold Battle of Britain" series. The HDR offered the options of 'Record Recommended', 'Record Single' and 'Watch'.

I initially selected 'Record Recommended' as there was no Series link available, but this only set up the first programme, not all four. So I had to set up each individual programme as a 'Record Single'; not helpful at all.

It's not a problem of there being a Recom CRID in place for this programme but the lack of a Series CRID. If you check out The Good Wife on Channel4 at 23:10 tonight they have included a Series CRID along with a Recom CRID and setting a series link is not problematic.
