Thank God I didn't attend this debacle,so called festival since I would have been well p*ssed off if I had even parted with a penny for thiscrap.
I'm watching the highlights on ITV1 and not one Act so far has sung in tune.
Jay z what a joke there's a female backing singer nowhere to be seen but of course since she's not there becauseit's a backing tape !
And it's meant to be live.
He's trying to "sing "a nursery rhyme which has no melody. This is the Emperor's clothing syndrome at its best.
Paul McCartney - Live and Let die, preferably the latter, since his voice is shot on this track but easily the best so far since he can at least write a melody. Please note (Jay z) he uses real musicans and not backing tapes.
Blondie -she looks like my Mum God bless - what on earth is she doing;have standards stooped so low -guess so.
On comes Flo and the out of tune machine.I swear every note is a bummer but what does that matter to the tone deaf. How does she geat away with it.Guarantee her next album will be toilet.Stop trying to be Kate Bush.
Next up the Saturdays - please can someone flush them away. They are trying to sing live and now we know why they need autotune on every record. No luvs the hotpants can't disguise this travesty I'd rather hear my toilet flush.
Will the real musicians please stand up and be counted.

The trouble with watching this on ITV2 is that the editing is appalling. My daughter and grandson were there as were many people I know (I live on the Island) and they all had a great time and really enjoyed the line up this year. Everyone said that Paul McCartney was brilliant live. He doesn't come over well on TV.

Did turning it off and doing something else occur to you as an option?

Well my son went and said he had the time of his life, the atmosphere and effects were fantastic. The Paul McCartney set was amazing and Pink wowed the crowds too. He's on a low now and watching our recordings on ITV 2, which doesn't give any incite as to how it really was if you were actually there.

Jay Z used track vocals because not all his collaborators could be there to perform with him, and replacing their voices with back up singers doesn't have the same effect. You could tell the crowd were let down when an unknown lady came out to sing Alicia Key's part in 'Empire State of Mind'.

With Florence, that was the worst I've heard her. She's usually top notch. Might have been that she was sick, or might have been that she couldn't hear her band to stay in tune/time with.

I thought the overall festival (well, judging by the mutilated remains courtesy of ITV) was alright. Wasn't expecting much more from it. Had the crowd pleasers, the newcomers, legends and festival-staples.

When I saw Florence live at Hammersmith she was excellent. She seems to perform better when it's her own gigs. On TV shows and some festivals she doesn't seem to do as well.

What were the Strokes like? Any good?

Yes apparently Florence was very nervous because of the size of the Festival and my son said she had some wine after each song she did.

Jay Z and Paul McCartney? Don't know what this apparent 'event' is about but it sounds like my worst musical nightmare.
