Shall I leave well alone ios4?
I have the 3g iphone, after reading such negative reports on the update with this phone, I am wondering if I am best to leave the operating system as it is?

The only advantage I have found is the ability to have folders....If you don't think that's a must then it may not be worth it...As an aside I lost everything during the update, contacts etc and all other settings. Others have not experienced this. Basically the choice is yours...

Thankyou call100
![]() Think I shall leave well alone for now! Will I eventually "have" to do the upgrade though? I see on carphone warehouse they do not even offer the 3g handset now! I'm in a contract with mine till Sept 2011

So not worth even doing the update?

Maybe wait until iOS 4.x.x comes out, which may address performance issues with the 3G. Possibility is that an update could be released in a month or so.

I updated my 3G and wish I hadn't- all sorts of problems with emails and the folders are the only plus point. I'm also under contract until Aug 2011!! Leave it alone and enjoy the sun!!!

Other than waiting a while as someone suggests, with this current os, until my contract is up, will it always operate with the version prior to version 4?
Or like anything will the update be inevitable? |

Upgraded my 3G 8GB and had no problems; took a while to upgrade. Folders are good, as is the new look email. GPS appears to be more reliable; had problems with RunKeeper app not being able to get any fix at all - now gets a fix in less than 10 seconds usually.

I have the 3g and updated to ios4. Everything is grand so far and seems snappier (fingers crossed) BUT opening the messages app (text messages not email) seems to take an age, I've timed it and it's only a 5 second delay but can definitely notice the lag between pressing the button and my messages opening. have tried hard resetting phone, clearing some messages but the delays still there.
