Weekly Task/Nominations
Hamlet
31-05-2004
Have the weekly task (normally Sunday) and nominations (normally Monday) been changed this year, as so far neither seem to have taken place.

I know the eviction is going to be different this week, but surely they will still have to nominate. UNless they are choosing who will go from the whole group?

Apologies if these activities have already happened, I may not be as up to date as in previous years due to the p*ss poor interactive service provided by Telewest.

No you haven't missed anything - nothing's happened!

No one seems to know what is going on is what will go on - and that's just the BB5 producers!

I thought that they would do fake nominations tonight (as Wednesdays on E4 are normally their uncut DR backstabbings) - If they don't have any Noms, they can't have a Noms programme on Wednessday!

Then on Friday drag them in and give them 1 min to decide!

PLUS+ I thought they were going to do a weekly task that if they failed would cost them £10,000 of the prize money!

Thanks for that Smeagol, glad to see it's not just me who's confused by it all.

I see the Nominations Uncut show is listed and being trailed as 7pm Tuesday. Do you think the producers have forgotten as they seemed to forget to turn up for the E4 Forum shambles this evening.

Shame that the weekly task are being dumped this year, I thought BB3 suffered from this personally. There is nothing to compare to seeing the hm's suffer, more so if a 24/5 task is involved.

Great fun and the insomiacs have something to enjoy.

Dome, I don't think they've been dropped. Like Smeagol, I understand the final prize fund is dictated by the HM's successes/failures in the tasks.

Unless anyone has any info to the contrary.

and if they don't do a money losing task this week - there will be no way to get prize fund down to zero - which Davina said was a possiblity at the start!

A few questions;

1) It's now fast approaching Tuesday, what's happened to weekly task?

2) Did the announcement regarding prize fund link with Saturday live task take place? Were they adjudged to have completed the task successfully?

3) Why have BB deviated from their own press pack release?

The supply of luxuries is dependent on the group’s performance in compulsory weekly tasks, which will be set on a Sunday and resolved over the following days. As soon as the nature of the task is announced by Big Brother, the housemates will have to work together as a team to complete it. They will find out if they have successfully completed that week’s task every Wednesday. If the housemates are successful then they will be rewarded at Big Brother’s discretion, but if they fail they could be punished.

The housemates will also have to perform in a separate live challenge every Saturday. This challenge will be broadcast live on Channel 4. In fitting with the Big Brother Gets Evil theme, this year for the very first time, the stakes have been raised and hanging is the balance is the overall prize money. The housemates will enter the house playing for a prize fund of £100,000, completely unaware that they could lose it all over the next ten weeks. Big Brother will announce to them that, for the first time in Big Brother history, the outcome of the weekly Saturday challenge will determine whether this prize fund drops. In ten weeks time the winner of Big Brother 5 could walk away with nothing.

No problem Hamlet, maybe CH4 reserve the right to change the rules at any time, just like BB

They can only lose £90000 cos there's only 9 Saturday's left... The producers REALLY don't think these things through do they...

The Saturday task is for the prize money, with them competing for AT LEAST £10,000 each week. I imagine at some point they'll also get the opportunity to win back money they've lost.

No weekly tasks for shopping, but the info about the fake eviction states they will have a weekly task next week, with a mystery reward if they win, and an evil punishment if they lose.
