I'm a bit rusty on EIT stuff as it's so long since I wrote any code for it!! However, there are two sets of tables - one for events on the actual mux and one for events on all other muxes (in your network). DVB specifies 16 tables for actual and 16 for other - enough to carry schedule data for 64 days. The UK 8 day guide therefore uses just two tables for each of actual and other.

The first table carries events from midnight just gone for four days, the second table contains events for days 5 through 8. When any of the event information is updated, the table's version number changes. Ironically, at midnight (UTC) each day, all tables roll their version number as the data is shuffled down a day and the new day 8 gets added.

My PVR-8000T and Humax telly show a full 8 day EPG for the 'actual' mux (the mux tuned to) but only show EPG content of 3+ days for the 'other' muxes, so presumably from what you say their software is not reading the second table for 'other muxes. I'm fairly sure that years ago my PVR-8000T used to show a full EPG for all muxes so presumably the way the EPG data is sent changed several years ago. It's a pity Humax don't still support these older machines and alter the software so that they read the full 8 day EPG using the data as it's sent nowadays. I say older machines but my telly is only as old as my 9200, two and a half years.

The way the EPG is sent hasn't changed.

However, with the increease in the number of channels on-air, the amount of data transmitted has increased. If a receiver doesn't have enough memory to handle the full EPG, then it has to take a decision to junk some data. It looks as if yours has decided to junk EITother from the furthest out events. (EIT other tables have around five times the data of EIT actual tables as well, thus making them an easy target for ignoring in order to save memory).

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm a bit surprised my Humax telly at only two and a half years old doesn't have enough memory, a bit short sighted on Humax's part maybe.
