How is it middle class? I'm sure the people who are there are enjoying it, so it's hardly rubbish.

What's the point in being 'anti-establishment' these days anyway? What exactly would it achieve?

It's a music festival. People are there to enjoy the music and have a good time

I though Iggy was really great there, and then he went and did the car insurance ads maybe it had that affect on him.

I wonder when they'll start having doormen on the gates chucking out people who look a bit to scruffy.

I think it's gone horribly mainstream and commercial. Sold its soul.

Maybe I missed something, but when was it underground? Haven't they always had big name acts who are well known, not really alternative or cutting edge stuff?
I'm not a big fan of festivals. Camping in the mud with no real bathroom is not for me. It's also very boring to wait through all the bands and artists you don't like to see the few you do and then they only do a short set.
I'd rather just go to a regular length concert by my favorite artist. Much less hassle and more enjoyable.

They truly are awful aren't they. Their must be better bands playing in nearby pubs even if it was short notice.

In what way do you feel it's commercial? I hardly think there any fear of Shayne Ward and Joe McElderry turning up. I presume there is the element of having to queue for 5 hours to shit your guts out following that £10 botulism burger, which ironically enough seems the antithesis of what commercialism sets out to achieve.

Based on the fact that your user name comes from a more than 20 year old video game and the fact that I get that reference, I would wager that both of us are of such an age that we're not supposed to like festivals.

They are not for us. They are for young types.

Have you had a look at the bored audience and the presenters of the show on BBC2 .

Gorillaz, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Dizzee Rascal, middle class - really?

Glastonbury's moving with the times (thank God!) in a bid to stay 'relevant'. You can't expect it to showcase the same acts, nor even the same kind of acts it did 20 years ago...otherwise it really would be 'stuck in the mud'!
