Memories of Bellefire including Tara
I first got to know Bellefire when their debut single Perfect Bliss was played regularly whilst I was on holiday in Ireland. In Dublin you could hardly move for wall-to-wall billboards advertising it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxe9rlqTYGA
Bellefire's version of U2's All I Want is You was released as a single here but the record company messed them around and then dropped them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ave8iq7n5gg In the meantime I had met Bellefire when they opened a record shop. They performed a track Surrender which is just as good as Perfect Bliss really. They also signed a promo card for All I Want is You. As Tara was the first to say Hello to me I admitted to having got to know Perfect Bliss on holiday in Ireland. She took my news really well and spoke to me briefly about my holiday while the others then signed my card! I had always been a bit more intrigued by Tara, and this felt amazing as well as really charming. Surrender can be heard, once you press the centre arrow twice, at http://www.megavideo.com/?d=R2DG910H Sadly Tara felt unable to sign the contract with East West Records when the rest of Bellefire did. Instead, she went on to study fashion. A progress report appears at http://www.rte.ie/tv/offtherails/ser...eattaralee.htm Although some websites have Tara's birthday as 25th July, she revealed in an interview in 2001 that it is her birthday today. As well as hoping Tara has had an enjoyable birthday, I am definitely in the mood for arranging a Perfect Bliss 10th anniversary holiday in Ireland next year!
