Singer/Groups that will still be around in 5-10 years
I was wondering about this some time ago, because quite a lot of singers/groups seem to be dissapearing
. What singer/groups that are around now will still be around in the Charts in about 7-10 or more years? Which ones will last?I'm unsure because It's quite hard to imagine singer right now being older. I think some will be around but would have changed their music style I guess. I think that Lady GaGa will definitly last long in the charts. I think Rihanna will also last long but I'm unsure about others. |

Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Michael Buble, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Plan B, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Kylie. |

Well Rhianna has already been around for 5 years so predicting a lengthy chart career for her isn't exactly rocket science.
I don't think new artists these days are destined to go the distance. |

I think Pixie Lott will still be around in 5 years unlike for example Miley Cyrus. Miley will too obviously seem a child star but Pixie is radio friendly and has some good song writers, not least herself!

I'm not really sure, for all I know Chuck Berry could still be playing in 5-10 years!
However i'd say, Lady Gaga Jay Z Either Paul or Ringo Damon Alburn Keith Richards and Mick Jagger (Seriously) Alicia Keys Bob Dylan (Also Seriously) Muse AC/DC Beyonce Brian Wilson (Fingers crossed) As you can see I have high expectations for alot of older legends to still be making music for years to come. |

She'll probably have the inevitable 'breakdown' in a few years, or will else have a massive career as an adult once she's gotten rid of the Hannah Montanna/teenage rebel image. |

MADONNA!(the girl has still gawt it!)
RIhanna Britney Christina Aguilera Alicia Keys Florence & The Machine Gorillaz(NEVER go!) Lady Gaga(whether we like her or not) Beyonce Kelly Rowland Robyn Shakira Janelle Monae Elbow Bjork Scissor Sisters Dizzee Rascal Eminem those are the ones i think have the strength to remain for the next decade! and will more than likely create amazing material in the future as well as what they've achieved in the past, some underrated, some surprising and others too loved and embraced in the industry |

I bet you madonna will still be going on when she's 60! I think that Beyonce will last forever but I also predict she would probably be focusing on her acting in around 10 years time. Jay-Z will last but he will be 50 in 10 years time!

Taylor Swift is huge in the US, but not so much here, so again its too early to say. the others I agree with though. oh and only death will stop Madonna, she'll still be working in her 90s otherwise! |

It's really hard to say who'll be around, but it's clearly evident which artists will be influential and still talked about positively in 5-10 years time.
Beyonce Mariah Carey Alicia Keys Amy Winehouse Whitney Houston Jay Z Kanye West Muse |

I don't see what PlanB have done to suggest longevity. Miley Cyrus seems to be losing her teen fans, whilst not impressing the adults...so it woulden't be a shock to see her drift away.

And unfortunately for us, I don't think the UK will determine whether Taylor is a big enough star or not. She's only had moderate success here but she had the biggest selling album of last year in America and the buzz around her is phenomenal. |

Putting a totally different spin on this:-
Joe Bonamassa Joe Satriani Walter Trout Muse(but by this time they may have become an orchestra,LOL) Radiohead Oli Brown B B King Biffy Clyro Stone Temple Pilots Velvet Revolver(If they can EVER find a new vocalist!!) Foo Fighters The Rolling Stones(despite the fact that Keef actuallly died at some point in the eighties, but nobody had the guts to tell him!!) U2 Marillion Take That and of course, the Sugababes, although all 3 current members will have left and been replaced by then - possibly by the three original members!!!!!!! Keane - and Tom Chaplin will still look as if he's only about 14 years old, LOL. Oh, nearly forgot, Coldplay will release the eighteenth version of their "Same album again" And, unfortunately, Madonna, in addition to drawing her pension and having a bus pass, will be subjecting us to some piece of drivel that makes "I've got Abba sample and I'm going to use it" actually,in comparison seem totally musical, and the video will be banned after complaints by "Help the aged". |

I've seen him four times since he started touring again and every gig has been awesome but I can't say I've been very impressed with most of his new stuff. I share your hope that he sticks around for a good while yet though.
