Before Amy remembered the doctor, River Song got there and gave her the blank blue book.

1) River Song obviously remembered. So why didn't the doctor come back from her memories?

2) How did River Song keep her memories?

3) How does the blue book exist if the doctor didn't? I understand it was blank but the book still physically existed.

4) How did River Song get to Amy's time in the first place?

The Dr said she was special as she had spent her life around the crack and it affected her in some way.

the doctor said amy spent her life around the crack. not river song.

We don't know who or what River Song is. All we do know is that she is part of the Doctor's future. Like the Doctor, she looks human but she may not be. We also don't know for certain that she remembers the Doctor. She may just remember Amy and that the diary is somehow linked to her.

lets assume that river went back after she told the doctor that the next time they meet it will be dfferent , when doctor returns her spoiler book.

Answer to 3) Why did the ring exist, even though Rory was wiped from time. If you hold onto objects, you can imagine them back...

In the Weeping Angels two parter Amy remembered the Angels when they fell through the crack because she wasn't of that particular timeline(and a time traveller) so that is how I took it that River remembered...may be totally inaccurate but it's how it works for me.

The ring didn't go through a crack in time like Rory or the weeping angels. people disappeared but their effects did not.

I had assumed that River's a special case as her and the Dr's relationship runs in two different directions. In the Time of Angels she has already experienced the Pandorica Opens so it's not too much of a step to say she's also experienced the Big Bang as well and already knows its outcome. Ok, she goes back to prison, we're told, after the Time of Angels but she could have popped back to the Big Bang from anywhere subsequent on her timeline.

Or have I got that completely wrong?
