Porting Number to Orange
AshSan
27-06-2010
Hey.

I have a new phone that is due on Tuesday and I am switching from O2 to Orange. I have my PAC code but I was wondering two things:

1) When is Orange's help/customer service phone line open until on a week night?
2) How long does the porting take, roughly? I hope to ring them up late and have it done over night (as I know there's a period whereby there is no connection, as so to speak). Or perhaps the next day when I'm at work.

Thanks in advance.

But Orange are one of the most expensive and poorest quality.

How about, you switch to GiffGaff and give the hundreds of pounds they're going to get to charity?

Porting your number takes about 3 days, I left T - Mobile for two reasons 1. T - Mobile have merged with Orange I don't like Orange & 2. I am with o2 for my broadband so it made sense to go with o2 & pay £7.50 instead of £12.50

I got the best deal on it. £10/month cheaper than what O2 were offering and I didn't have to pay £100 up front for the phone.

What is the use in critising the OP's network choice etc when he / she hasn't asked for this kind of advice?

In my experience, AshSan, Orange customer services have been open until around 10pm, although I admit I may be wrong - it's been a while since I've been with them.

A port takes two working days. So if you give Orange your PAC code before the end of the working day on Monday, your number will port on Wednesday.
