Ok so here goes...

I took out a BT landline which I had to pay £25 up front for because I failed the credit check.

The £25 went of the first 2 months bill. I then took out broadband with Orange when the landline was activated and shortly after moved the BT landline over to Orange.

I had some issues with paying my Orange bill (Down to the Direct Debit) and was left with a balance of £169.

Orange then disconnected the landline and broadband so if the line is dialled the call just cuts of.

Any way Orange then told me if I paid the bill they would reconnect so I paid the bill.

Orange then told me they could no longer offer me a landline but could offer me the broadband and are due to connect it up in a week or so.

I of course have a concern that this will fail as the landline number has no provider and according to the BE BT Checker (BE and in BE Broadband) the landline is NOT active however most providers tell me I can get broadband & land line.

BT have informed me from the website I can re-join with a £50 deposit (however I had cancellation charges from when I moved to Orange which have never been paid) But I want to know if I can go to a company who can offer me Broadband & Telephone (Thinking of plus.net) and want to know if the landline will be reconnected and working as normal or if there is likely to be any issues.

To sum it up BT are owed cancellation charges
Landline has NO provider but Orange say BB can be activated

Any help would really be appreciated.

Pay the money you owe.

Then do some decent research into a decent phone/BB provider so you're not switching providers and picking up cancellation fees along the way.

Simples.

You were clearly a credit risk before the first BT line was installed and, since then, you have not done yourself (or your credit file) any favours by not being able to service your debts or hiding your head in the sand and ignoring them.

If you remember that your income must always exceed your expenditure and you must never spend money you don't have, you won't go far wrong (politicians haven't yet learned that either).

Clear your debts first and then plan ahead accordingly.
