I was horrified.. nothing plugged into USB but the Top elongated slot of the screen display was Blue and not it's usual Pink..
I knew that it was in actuality only 50% full so immediately made a few resolutions for the future about no longer treating the Hard drive as likely to go on for years..Now i read that ITV HD is not even copyable..When Janet has watched her progs I'll switch off at the wall and keep everything crossed..
Is this indicative of a near failure soon even if it's not now?

Is it possible you were in the radio section rather than video? Sorry I can't check, but I think the radio "tab" is blue, and if you go in there and have no radio recorded then you may see 0% ( of radio) stored on the disk.

In respect of ITV HD you can copy it if and only if you record it in non-Freesat mode. For reasons which are not clear to me you need to go to non-Freesat mode, select the HD channel you want to record. Then switch off using the remote, switch back on, and as if by majic there is no encryption flag and you can copy as much as you like

Green Radio, Yellow Music and Blue Photos. But I couldn't figure out the reference to the pink progress bar unless Stan was refering to the tabs across the top.

Edit: I think stan may have been refering to the 'Change device' status bar, in which case he was tabbed to the photo view on an attached usb device.

As it happens there was NO usb connection at the time,, However..
For a week or so i had been experiencing as others have done..
intermittent connection of a 400G usb drive..
It would work from the front then stop..
then work from the rear socket and then stop..
Sometimes taking the little usb plug out enabled everything..
I watched the forums but hardly specific enough to write in about..but
the indicated 0% i thought was worth an input..
Yes the blue colour was nearly as you both suggest but not quite as specific..
in fact it was.. "Something like that".. as an old boss used to say..
I did a mains switch off and reset and NOW..
I am whispering as do not want to tempt fate..
NOT ONLY has the 0% GONE But
Any usb drive now works perfectly and even goes into Sleep mode when Humax is switched to Standby..
Previously it was as if the set was not 'Latching and Holding' correctly. However..
My down and dirty behind the set has unearthed another issue.. I'll do separate I/P..
As if resolved cheaply then it's virtual drinks all round..
