Transfer Photos from iPhone 4 to PC

I feel I'm going to look rather stupid in asking this but how is everyone transferring their photos taken on the iPhone 4 to PC?

I would normally sync everything under iTunes with the obvious stuff and then go through My Computer to locate the Apple iPhone under Camera's and Scanning devices. This is the way I'd go about it with the iPhone 3G but it would seem that the iPhone 4 is not displaying any of the photos I have taken under Windows XP.

I do all my iTunes stuff under Mac and was planning on transferring photo's under XP. I don't have iTunes installed in XP by the way but this shouldn't make much difference as the iPhone 4 is detected but just not displaying the photos. Any suggestions on what might be the problem?

I just go through windows explorer to the iPhone itself and take them directly from the DCIM folder. Probably not the best way but hey, im lazy!

In My Computer or Windows Explorer does the iPhone appear as a "removable drive"? Maybe E: depending on what drives you have.

If so what do you get going into that?

No, it just appears under Camera's and Scanning devices. Doesn't have a drive letter assigned to it. There should be two photos on the iPhone though. One taken with the front and another taken with the back camera.

Just thought I would let you know that I've got it working through DiskAid in Mac. I know that program requires installation of iTunes under Windows XP for it to work with the iPhone but I've no intention of installing iTunes under Windows when I'm already running that under Mac.
