Outstanding for EE. The high rating was probably a combination of the big reveal and Holby viewers tuning in at 8pm, hence the 9.2m peak dead on 8pm. Very surprising to see Holby not benefit though, 0.3m down on last week despite a lead in of 2.1m more. Very strange. Even though 5.2m and a 23% share is very strong, I think that Holby definitely benefits from extremely weak ITV1 competition in the 8pm slot and once it gets moved from that dominating slot it occupies it starts to fall. See when it moves to Wed 8pm/Thurs 9pm. Holby is very lucky.

Ugly Face of Beauty obviously down from clashing with EE, but BB up due to the news that Caiomhe has walked and the interesting noms news. I would have expected around 2.9m tonight, but probably a bit lower now due to the extended show.

Fantastic rating for EastEnders - it's on great form at the moment. Usually in the summer, its ratings see a notable dip but it's been the reverse this time round!

DS article headline is misleading. It's going to reportedly air after one of the live shows, not the final itself. I imagine it'll air a few days before their new album is released, maybe in November.

The main problem is over the last year or so stories just haven't been climaxing at the end of the week. In the Bryan Kirkwood era he was very good at building a story throughout the week so you just couldn't miss Friday's episode - but that's gone missing recently.

Talking of the Hollyoaks Music Show - any idea how well that rates for 4 Music on Fridays - where they stupidly put it at 7pm against the E4 first look episode!

Perhaps they'll reveal what it is in the tabloids tomorrow?”

The annoying thing is so often these extended shows just end up with actually more highlights than normal and then a 10-minute live bit at the end. It could easily be done in the 70 minute slot with the first four parts highlights and last being the live segment.

To be honest I don't think they're doing anything which couldn't have waited till Friday.

C4 are going to be airing the Aussie version from a week on Saturday.

The original article in The Sun about it also says it'll be on after the final. There aren't any Saturday slots avaliable for it in November as they're taken by Life Stories and I'm A Celebrity so I reckon it'll air after the final Saturday show on December 11th as they don't have the Comedy Awards this year. Should do pretty well; I can't stand them but they're popular.

Brilliant rating for EE. Interesting to see that Holby didn't benefit though, time to cut it to 26-30 weeks per year, methinks. The Bill is getting lower by the week.

BBC 2, That Mitchell & Webb Look
C4, The Fairy JobMother, which is doing well
Five, CSI Miami, which always does well

I just had an email about Take Me Out series two, and it seems they could help me find the guy or girl of my dreams. I'm sure in the first series it was only a whole loads of girls and one guy, so hopefully this means it will be the other way around, a load of guys and one girl.

It seems many were tempted away by the choices available on BBC multi-channel. Excellent thinking by the BBC to synchronise the start times so that BBC Three and BBC Four had new programming starting right after the hour-long EastEnders, which I'm assuming was clearly highlighted to viewers after the programme/during the credits.

Between 8:30pm and 9:00pm BBC Three and BBC Four had a combined audience of 1.51m. In the 9pm hour this audience increased even further to hit a high of 1.62m.

Very strong night for both channels it seems and a great example of the BBC working together as a network to cater for all kinds of viewers last night. The kind of variety you rarely get from Channel 4, and never from ITV.

Ahh, right. Thanks for the info. Sorry, don't follow the Foxtel channels at all so had no idea.

Yeah, they did the same thing last year splitting it up like that. Ten do it all the time with the finals of its shows. The only difference is this time the listings guides seem to be show it as two separate slots as well, which they didn't last time.

Can't wait to find out how high it will go on Sunday!

It looks like it could be very good especially with the help of Fox and I like the writer they have, Stephen Greenhorn.

If ITV had any brains they'd have done the same with this year's BGT Final, but that's ITV for you.

I'm looking forward to seeing how high MasterChef goes - I haven't posted much (if at all) on the Aussie ratings but I do always read them and find them very interesting. Looking at how it's done so far, and based on last year's ratings I think the final will top 4m for the second show at least.

1.7m it was one of the episodes against BGT im sure it was the Tuesday episode.

Outstanding ratings last night for EastEnders and for July also.
The BBC should have advertised this episode and it could have peaked at 10million

I think Enders is on top form atm and it's ratings are showing with that and i think this is one of their best summer ratings for sometime?

With Big storylines coming up in August and september i think the future is looking good and then it's back to Enders best part of the year xmas

Im surprised that Holby didn't pull in a few more viewers though

I don't get why they are showing repeats when they've got a new series ready to go.

So with just 6 episodes left, no signs yet of the old fans coming back to say goodbye to the 27 year old show yet with the show finishing (if all goes to plan) on Tuesday 7th September at 9pm and I'm guessing the farewell doc will air before it at 8pm. I was thinking ~5m for the final show-not so sure right now.
