Yeah that could work-obviously the chemistry between the two would have to be tested. I think the 16week format would work well-when C4 have a hit they tend to put it on to absolute overkill (I read that Come Dine With Me was on 30times last week on Channel 4!!!!); other examples include Deal Or No Deal, Countdown etc. All these would be much more enjoyable if they were only on for series or perhaps one day per week.

Not a surprise since CBB7 was always advertised as the last ever. Was it ever in any doubt?

If they wanted to give Fern a cohost then a completely foolproof plan would be John Leslie, and basically give them Richard & Judy's show. Can't go wrong really.
It is fools who have kept him off air. |

Crazy idea of the day: with Celebrity Big Brother gone, should/could ITV move I'm A Celebrity to January? Whilst it would mean that they don't get their pre-Christmas boost, it would boost January significantly, as it is a quieter month for them. More importantly, they could use it to launch new dramas, which they can't do now as they'd run into Christmas. Thoughts?

if it was fool proof he would have a TV job already, he was innocent, and he lost his career for no reason.
It is fools who have kept him off air. Going off on a bit of a tangent, its a shame he lost his job, and if he didn't then Philip Schofield almost certainly wouldn't be at ITV which in turn probably means Holly wouldn't be on This Morning. |

I think if they did move it it would more likely be to around June (in non-football years) - would be of more use to ITV there than in January. Quote:
Exactly, last weeks eviction shocked me getting 2.8m and then 2.6m against Jonathan Ross's last whow which peaked at 5.2m, and can't say that Ife was a interesting enough character to recieve the highest eviction rating of the series, TBH with new HMs and no Jonathan Ross we should be having 3m+. But you never know.
Agree, Caoimhe's leaving messed up the dynamics again and thanks to that we have had 2 consecutive 2.7m ratings, however i think tonight will drop. |

I definitely think Channel 4 have been a little hasty in axing CBB especially looking at its latest ratings. They made the right decision by axing the summer series because it rates pretty much the same as everything else and dominates the schedules, but 6.3m for launch, 4.4m for the final and 3-3.5m inbetween isn't to be sniffed at. Even ITV would be happy with those figures at the minute! |

It's no coincidence too that now it's settled into a regular routine ratings have gone up. No doubt we will see a drop tonight but hopefully a 2.5m+ for both shows on Friday will ensure us the highest week average since Week 1. |

Wasn't the third series of IAC shown in January, the November-December is perfect as the weather in Australia is generally better and June-July wouldn't work as Australia is colder and short of moving the show to South America or Africa, I think a Summer move is unlikely and for the celebrities who get booted out early on, they get to stay at the Versace Hotel on the Gold Coast until the show is over.

Yeah it was and while I agree that Nov/Dec is a perfect time, it's quite funny to think that was he series that first shown Andre/Jordan and gave ITV so much success.
That was the year they had two series - the second series that year followed in November and it's been November ever since. |

No I meant it was a foolproof show for Channel 4 for a slot that desperately needs other successes other than CDWM/Coach Trip pairing.

Looks likely that Luther will be getting another series: Quote:
Luther looks set for a recommission, with discussions currently under way with lead actor Idris Elba’s agent in the US. Official average for series one was 5.01m which is decent, although it masks the fact that the audience dropped every week apart from the last episode where it settled just above 4m. The writer Neil Cross is under an exclusive BBC contract which may have swung it in his favour as if this got axed, he'd have to start all over again with a new show which would've taken more time and resources. However, it is understood that due to his commitments in Hollywood, the option of either two specials or a full six-part series are both being explored. The 6 x 60-minute crime drama featuring Elba, famed for his role as Stringer Bell in The Wire, was heavily promoted when it launched in May and hailed as an example of the kind of ambitious drama of which the BBC wanted to do more. Made in-house, it followed troubled murder detective DCI John Luther and was critically acclaimed, with the first episode securing an impressive audience of 5.76 million (24.2%) on BBC1 and BBC HD in its 9pm slot. However, it did lose viewers over the series, down to 4.18 million (18.5%) half way through its run and ending on 3.69 million (15.8%). Overall, the series average of 4.23 million (17.9%) was only slightly below its slot average of 4.41 million (18%). The BBC has been praised for securing the Hollywood A-lister and for featuring a black male lead in the series, and it is keen to secure a new deal. Earlier in the year, BBC Worldwide managing director of sales and distribution Steve Macallister told Broadcast he was working on strategies to create drama franchises of the scale of 24 and Heroes as an alternative to shows produced by the dominant US studios. http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/c...016285.article Quote:
According to wikipedia ( not the best I know ) it got 11.02m so it looks like It could be the best but I don't know ratings for series 4 - present.
ITV will keep it in November due to increased pre-Christmas advertising sales at that time of the year. |

Something to note (back on BB form), that Twitters % for BB11 tonight hit the highest since launch I think... It was 0.23% compared to the 0.15% yesterday, does this mean it would have gone 2.9m+, i somehow doubt it but BB11 and Andrew Stone is trending.
Predictions on EE tonight? I reckon 8.5m and Undercover Boss at 3m. |

Tonight's Big Brother episode was one of the best i've seen. So funny, but probably for the wrong reasons. I hope it does well in the ratings tomorrow.
