Im a ltitle surprised that next series is not the last series, or at least the show is put on notice, and it wont get another series is ratings drop much more, but I guess that every show is on that.

Justin Bieber on CSI, is an insult to every other actor in every other episode.

I hope they murder him in it.

would be best, I believe this is his first acting gig, best to give him half dozen lines in the "versions" and let that be that, all the actors play the killer, he isnt ready for that.

That said, where else was he going to get his equaity card? The Bill?

I think CSI: NY and CSI: Miami are very much on notice at this stage. They might let things run until midseason, see where the ratings are, then make the call on whether or not to drop certain series. How they handle the endings is another issue. Can they really drop all 3 in one season?

As for Bieber's role:

Quote:
“Bieber will make his debut on CSI in the season premiere, playing "Jason McCann, a troubled teen who is faced with a terrible decision regarding his only brother—a decision that leads him into an explosive confrontation with the CSIs." A bit too heavy for a first acting gig, eh? I bet a Justin Bieber movie is not far away.”

Disney put Demi Lovato (a kind of Miley Cyrus with a less outrageous personality but a better voice) on Grey's Anatomy near the end of last season but at least she had some acting background even if it is just kids TV. Bieber is being put in what sounds like a fairly tough role with no experience!

it does seem unlikely they would drop all 3 at once, but I could see them again playing hard ball with peoples contracts, saying something like "we only need a cast for two shows" which two shows they bring back depend on what contracts could be signed, the problem with that is, the 4 leads (Ray, Catherine, Horatio & Mac), other than Catherine & Horatio, no other pairing is going to work.

The point is, if you axe 1 show, those actors are unemployed, and may be happy to work for less to play there charater on one of the two remaining CSI show, than the cast of those two shows.

That or you axe all 3, and hand pick a cast from the 3 (again Horatio & Catherine) so in a way you are only axing two, and viewers from all 3 shows have a reason to watch the new show.

I hope they kill Bieber off but I have a feeling that they'll want him to sing at the end of the show so he'll life.

I can't remember now, I'm afraid, but I remember Phil joined when it came back in September 2002, while Leslie left in October. I think Fern might have done the whole week, but John didn't. Was it Ruth Langsford? Certainly John and Fern did the whole week for the second half of 2001/02 after the dreadful Twiggy and Coleen double act was ditched.

That was also the time when they were rumouring that Richard and Judy might be coning back because they were struggling on Channel Four - they took their show off for a fortnight for Celebrity Big Brother and it was being thrashed by The Weakest Link - and they were said to be "in talks" with ITV. But in the end Four perservered with it and it ended up alright.

Anyway, you couldn't hire John Leslie, not just because the papers would go mental - it'd be like hiring Gary Glitter in their eyes - but also because he got so sick of the media during his court case that he decided to give up telly completely.

Can you tell us what each channel got in the 9pm slot? It's going to be a while before any website updates...

No, I can't really, 'cos I'm on shift. They should be up by midday/1ish - sure other sites may update before then

A few ratings from Attentional:

The Private Life of Pigs (BBC2): 1.8m (8%)
Homes From Hell (ITV1): 3.3m (14.6%)
The Hotel Inspector (Five): 1.8m (7.8%)

Good start for The Hotel Inspector - there was quite a lot of factual competition last night.

Homes From Hell is doing a little better than I expected, especially as they've changed the format

Presuming Undercover Boss was under 3.3m, that means that 3.3m won the 9pm hour!

Good in one way for ITV, but 3.3m is still a very poor number for any of the big 2 channels at 9pm.

Yeah I think UB stole a lot of its viewers.

I actually think UB could have won its slot.

I would love it if UB was 3.3 without including + 1

It got 3.7m last week and I think it can be compared to The Secret Millionaire which was often breaking 4m in 2008. It might not have directly won its slot on Channel 4 but it almost certainly will have got over 3.3m when +1 is added. But I think it did get more than 3.3m.

Fantastic for The Hotel Inspector considering the heavy factual competition and pretty much in line with the last series which averaged 1.9m in a similar Monday slot. The surge in popularity last year seems to be continuing and it is definitely FIVE's biggest factual show. Hopefully the strong ratings will continue and it will hit 2m+ like last year.

Yesterday's Channel 4 ratings [including +1]:

The Simpsons: 1.63m
Hollyoaks: 1.16m
Undercover Boss: 2.55m
Big Brother: 2.62m

Big fall for Undercover Boss, down 30% compared to last week. Big Brother got its highest Thursday rating in five weeks..

Whoa 2.55 that's pretty bad compared to what I was expecting viewers must have been down on all fronts

Looks like The Hotel Inspector dented Undercover Boss and took away the viewers to Five.

Yeah, 2.5m average so far this week, which is about 200k up from last week. Nice little mid-series boost, that.

Is UB definitely including +1, it's just that PJ said it had continued to preform and it looks like its fallen off a cliff!
