Does anyone know how any of the following programmes rated?

Quote:
“TV’s Naughtiest Blunders - Wed 22:35 ITV1
Match of the Day Live: Leeds United v Derby County - Sat 17:05 BBC HD
Cricket on Five - Sat 19:15 Five
Rugby League: Challenge Cup Semi Final - Sun 15:00 BBC Two”

I couldn't source them anywhere but need them if possible for the DSPRG. Many thanks.

Seems Paul O' Grady's ITV show will be Live starting from Friday 10th September ( although there seems to be a pilot on Wednesday 25th August)

Says "Doors open 8.00pm" so a 9:00pm start time is a dead cert ( which puts all them reports that said it was going to be competing with The One Show to bed!)

So, as always, September looks a lot better than August.

I don't think Channel 4 will be at all pleased then to see that Paul O'Grady's show will be clashing with the final of Big Brother All Stars.

Saying that ITV have no choice, as there is a slight chance BBC could do what they did last year and put the first 2 episodes of Strictly Come Dancing on Friday's - which if they do, will almost certainly be the following two Friday's. I don't think they will, but I don't think ITV will want to take that risk.

It won't. Generally BB finals air 8-9pm and then 10-11pm

I doubt Big Brother and Paul O'Grady will appeal to the same audience at all so I can't see that being too problematic for either.

As for Strictly, it's starting 2 weeks later this year, so if they do the Friday episodes they'll be September 31st and October 7th. I'm not sure if they'll do them again as the results shows are returning to Sundays apparently so I doubt they'll want it on 3 days. If they do though I expect ITV will just sit tight and live with it as it'll only be for 2 weeks.

Glad Sherlock pulled over 7m, It's been a great series and a recommision is in order. I wonder how it would do in winter if it's getting over 7m in summer.

Oddly enough, it's probably a show better off in the summer. In the Winter, the competition from ITV1 is usually much tougher on Sundays (I'm a Celebrity/TXF/DOI/Wild at Heart/bigger dramas) so I don't think it would've rated as well.

Not that it will matter much, but I expect the BB finale to start at 8:30pm like last year, so there may be a partial clash between the two.

Amazing ratings for Sherlock. Deserved them. A brilliant series.

The Beeb shouldn't be airing Countryfile in the 8pm slot; I'd have it at 6.30pm. I see ITV floated copycat show Countrywise in the 7pm slot and it did OK. I can see ITV moving CW to a Sunday tea-time/early evening slot permanently - to boost its ratings and get the jump on the established original BBC show.

Great finale for Sherlock - even though I'm a bit nonplussed by the series frankly. Didn't do a great deal for me. No doubt ITV's Copycat Commissions department will be working on their own plans for a modern reworking of an old classic after Sherlock's ratings triumph. I wonder what they will come up with...

Well, it's looking good for whatever BBC1 has lined up for the 9pm slot on Fridays. A decent drama not targeted at the under 35 demographic (Silent Witness, New Tricks?) would clean up against yet more daytime fodder punted into primetime by ITV.

Oh dear. It's one thing to hand over the channel to The X Factor; it's another thing completely to handover to The Xtra Factor and just airing filler after the biggest lead in of the year. This is their biggest chance, but instead it appears to be wasted again. They may as well just air The Xtra Factor on ITV1 and be done with it.

And 70 Degrees North deserves a better chance than the Tuesday 9pm slot.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sherlock did excellently last night, though it's audience is dropped ever so slightly in comparison to the launch episode. Big Brother held up well, as did ITV1 throughout the night. Heartbeat deserves another chance considering how it's holding up.

they shoul do a modern day Dracula, only better than Demons

Actually ive always wanted to see a vampire series where old school vampires, worry about the threat posed by the new breed of vampires, the Twilight Edward Cullan types.

Guess ITV would do a 21st century Romeo & Juliet.

According to this report, Popstar to Operastar will be switching to Sundays next year and air in the summer:
Quote:
“An ITV insider said: “Popstar To Operastar may not have been a huge ratings winner but it didn’t do badly.

“There have been many false reports saying the show has been axed but it hasn’t.

“It will have a new look and just one presenter as we thought having two was a bit of an overkill.

“We’re confident that fans will like what we are planning.”

There will still be eight celebrities in the show and, according to documents seen by the Daily Star, producers have set aside £700,000 to spend on talent.

However, there’s an extra £135,000 in the pot should bosses convince a “big” star to sign up.

Popstar To Operastar is launched in June next year and will be screened on Sunday evenings”

I suppose Benidorm will take the Friday slot in January/February, but I still thought they'd keep PSTOS on Fridays in Spring. My guess is that they'll pair PSTOS up with The Royal as they both skew towards an older audience. I suspect that BBC1 will be winning the Sunday night ratings next summer if they air a decent 9pm drama against it.

Popstar To Operastar on Sundays sounds like a decent enough plan. I suspect it'll do a bit better away from Silent Witness and get about 4.5m. It was going to have to move from Fridays anyway as they'll be full until the Summer with Benidorm and Paul O'Grady (I'm sure he's signed up for a Spring run already) and in the Summer the Sunday slot will be better for it. It also fits in with the entertainment slant the Sunday 8pm slot is taking. I think they'll probably pair it with The Royal too, but I'd rather they aired The Royal before then and paired it with something new.

PSTOS will probably air after Dancing on Ice finishes its run and in an earlier time slot, probably 7-7.30pm so that any feature length drama can air at 8.30-9pm.

The last set of ratings for Popstar to Operastar were fairly erratic, I'd put it down to Celebrity Big Brother personally because they went up once that was over. On a Sunday, they should be able to do a bit better. I don't think it will last beyond series 2 though, its like Soapstar Superstar all over again.

...but it'd probably be cheaper than anything else they have on Sunday's in the Summer. And probably would end up still getting 4m.

ITV should start looking inside the box when commissioning new shows. Celebrity Juice, Secret Diary etc could all work on ITV1, and if they failed then they could go back to ITV2. The BBC use BBC2 and 3 as a launch pad before shows move up to BBC1, I honestly don't understand why ITV aren't doing the same. Yes, its nice for ITV2 to have its own staple shows, but ITV1 should be more of a priority.

Identity not doing very well at all, and ITV news as well!
Thats quite decent for Big Brother (Joint 2nd highest Monday), we should see an increase tonight with face to face nominations, probably a 2.5m+, or possibly even 2.6m.
